1 That's the entire shoot I went through one by one. 2 It's not my preference. 3 I would actually prefer to make those selections 4 inside of Lightroom Classic, 5 because it's much faster when we use the survey mode. 6 So this, you have to go through one by one. 7 It's actually faster on the iPad 8 because the iPad allows for a little bit nicer experience, 9 and you can kind of just kind of flip through the images. 10 And then when you see one you like, you click on it, 11 and it opens it up, you flag it or star it, or whatever, 12 and then go back. 13 Plus you have the swiping options, 14 and it's just a nicer experience. 15 Here, they really need to give you a much bigger option 16 so that you have like three pictures per 17 instead of, you know, six, or seven, or eight. 18 But hopefully someday they'll give it to us. 19 Okay, so now that we have our images, 20 we can do several things here. 21 The first thing that we can do is we can sort by 22 the types of images. 23 So we can ju...
st sort by all of our flagged images, 24 or we can sort by all of our unflagged 25 and our rejected images. 26 And you know what? 27 I really like this one, and I'm going to open it up, 28 and I'm just gonna zoom in and make sure. 29 I just wanna see, yeah. 30 I kind of like that shot. 31 And so I'm just going to make sure that I pick it. 32 And notice how it disappeared. 33 And that's because we have this filter up here 34 for rejected and unpicked images. 35 So now if I scan through here and find any more that I like, 36 which I don't, if I click on 'em, 37 they will just disappear from this search. 38 So let's just go find one more 39 so that you can see that happen. 40 Okay, well, this is a good one 41 just to show you the circumstance 42 because at one point I had the light over here 43 because she was facing this direction. 44 And so I'm gonna pick this one as well, 45 just as a description of the lighting circumstance. 46 So I'm gonna hit the Z key. 47 And watch, it'll just disappear from this group. 48 So boom, it's gone. 49 And that's simply because it's no longer fitting into 50 the filter that's up here. 51 Okay, so now I'm gonna go back to the grid 52 and hit the G key to get back to the grid. 53 And now that I'm in the grid, 54 I wonder if I should choose this one. 55 Yeah, I kind of like this one. 56 I'm gonna pick that one too. 57 Okay, so now I'm gonna hit the G key. 58 I'm in the grid, I'm gonna highlight everything here, 59 and now we have a choice. 60 We can either delete all of these images, 61 and remember, we're just looking at 'em on this hard drive. 62 So if sure that I don't want any of these images, 63 so I'm done with all the images, 64 and I can kinda scan through 'em just to make sure, 65 make sure I'm not missing anything 66 that I really, really, really, really, really, 67 really wanted. 68 Okay, so they all seem to be throw away a bowl, 69 so I can delete them simply by right clicking all of them 70 and hit delete 325 photos. 71 It's easy enough. 72 So if I delete those, they are going to go away. 73 It will delete them from this hard drive. 74 'Cause we're just, we're gonna file browser right now. 75 So it's not like it's Lightroom Classic 76 where if we hit the delete key, 77 it just removes them from Lightroom. 78 It's going to delete the files. 79 The other option that we have is we could take 80 all of these images, 81 and we can create a folder inside of the raw folder. 82 And I'm gonna do that just as a example of the way 83 that you can hold on to all of the originals. 84 So I'm gonna call these the rejects. 85 Remember, this is what we've done 86 in the Lightroom Classic model. 87 So inside of Lightroom Classic, 88 we put this inside of a rejects folder, 89 and we're gonna include all the selected photos 90 and hit Create. 91 And it just moved them all into rejects. 92 And now I'm gonna go in and choose all of the picked images 93 and highlight all of those. 94 I'm gonna right click this again, 95 and I'm going to create another folder inside there. 96 And we're gonna call it Selects, 97 and include all of the photos, and hit create. 98 There we go. 99 We have organized our hard drive full of images. 100 So here's the job folder. 101 Then there's the raw folder. 102 And inside there we have two folders 103 that contain all of the photos. 104 The first is the Rejects folder. 105 That's all the ones we didn't choose. 106 And the Selects folder, all the ones we did choose. 107 Now, if I decide that I want this folder 108 to be in my favorite, so that I can see it really easy 109 and I don't have to drill down into all of these hard drives 110 and and folders, 111 I can simply go over to this triple dot button, click on it, 112 and add it to the favorites. 113 So it's still where it is. 114 It didn't move the folder at all. 115 It just references the folder. 116 Almost like it's in a collection, 117 but it's not really in a collection. 118 It's in a favorites set. 119 So now in the favorites, 120 you can see that there is my portrait session. 121 I still have to drill down to the selects to see them, 122 but I've got all of my selects. 123 That's it. 124 So we did our first job, 125 which is to look at the images, 126 pair 'em down to our very favorites, 127 and those are the ones 128 that we're going to bring into Lightroom. 129 So the next step that we take 130 is going to put these images into Lightroom's, 131 Lightroom original folder, 132 and it's gonna put them up on the cloud. 133 So we want to make sure 134 that we're only putting the most important images 135 on the cloud, not the rejects.
