Lightroom Mobile: Importing Local Images
1 It's time to import our images into light or mobile. 2 But before we do that, just note 3 that we have three little icons down at the bottom here. 4 The one on the right is just a community icon. 5 It allows you to learn things, it allows you 6 to post things there. 7 So we won't even look at that here in this workshop. 8 But the middle one is Lightroom itself. 9 So when that's colored blue, that means 10 that we are looking at our images that are inside 11 of Lightroom itself. 12 So we're looking at our Lightroom images. 13 So there are two pots of photographs 14 in that you can see from Lightroom mobile. 15 I can see the photos that are imported into Lightroom 16 by clicking on this middle icon. 17 If on the other hand I click on this device icon over here, 18 now it's showing me all of the images 19 that are on my device, 20 but not inside of Lightroom. 21 So it's a file browser. 22 Remember, we went through Lightroom on the laptop 23 and it had a local area 24 and it had a Ligh...
troom web connected area. 25 This is similar to that. 26 The device area is everything that's inside 27 of your camera roll on your device. 28 So you can kind of hunt through your photos 29 that haven't auto imported. 30 And of course, I don't have auto import on on my iPad, 31 so I would have to go and look for a specific photo. 32 So if I wanna look at this photo of these palm trees 33 and this clouds, I can play around, 34 I can look at these photos, 35 but if I wanna edit them the second, 36 I push this little edit button down here, 37 it's going to import them into our Lightroom photos. 38 So I'm gonna hit the edit button now, 39 and when I do that, it's going 40 to bring it into the Lightroom editor. 41 And once it's in the editor, I can start playing around 42 with, let's grab the shadows 43 and bring 'em up so we can see that a little bit better. 44 Let's go to the color area 45 and bring the temperature up just a little bit. 46 It was a lot warmer than this photo makes it out to be, 47 at least it was sunrise, so there was quite a bit 48 of warmth on those clouds. 49 So I'm just gonna kind of play 50 with the temperature just a little bit. 51 I'm gonna go to the color grading 52 and I'm gonna go to the highlights. 53 So it's the highlights that were actually a lot warmer. 54 So I'm gonna grab those highlights 55 and just warm up the highlights just a little bit. 56 There we go. 57 And I'm gonna go out of the color grading, 58 I'm gonna go to color mix 59 and I'm gonna go to the blues. 60 And I'm actually going to take the saturation 61 of the blue up a little bit 62 and the luminance of it down a little bit. 63 So I'm really getting a little bit better feel 64 for what it actually looked like. 65 I'm gonna get rid of this area right here, 66 that little branch. 67 There we go. 68 Okay, so now, I like the way this image is. 69 And so now, I'm just going to click out from here. 70 And do you see what just happened there? 71 So once I clicked out, once I finished the edit, 72 it took that image 73 and it copied that image into the Lightroom database. 74 So now, there's two versions of that image. 75 There's the original image here 76 and see how has a Lightroom icon there. 77 So it's telling me 78 that this image has now been also put into Lightroom, 79 and there it is inside of the Lightroom catalog. 80 So now I have this Lightroom image. 81 You can see that I've adjusted it. 82 All of the settings that I set are in there. 83 But if I go back out and I go to the device 84 and I go click on this Lightroom version, see how it's back 85 to where it was because this is the original image, 86 and I would have to go edit it again in order 87 to get back to where I was. 88 So there are two areas in Lightroom mobile, 89 just like there are two areas in Lightroom 90 on your laptop. 91 There is the local storage area, and then there's this area 92 that's tied to the cloud. 93 So all of these images that are in the local storage area, 94 stay on the iPad until you do something. 95 You edit them and put them into Lightroom itself. 96 The other thing you can do is just click 97 on the little triple dot button and hit select, 98 and then you can select all of these images. 99 And once you've selected the images, you can go down 100 to this import button 101 and you can just import them into Lightroom. 102 You don't necessarily have to go through 103 and one by one, edit them in order 104 to get them into Lightroom. 105 You can highlight a whole bunch of 'em and say Import, 106 and it'll bring them into Lightroom. 107 So, but there's two areas 108 just like in Lightroom on your laptop.
