Welcome to another micro interaction video in adobe. XD. This one's going to do some cool stuff like this. Ready? It's kind of like a gallery, you can click on them, you can switch around. I've added some terrible animations to them bounce. We're going to work out how to make it look good and then how to make it look terrible with the bounce. Alright, let's jump in. Alright to get started. I'm just going to build the little thumbnail grid you saw before at the beginning. So we're just going to speed this up. I'll get the editor speed this one up. All right, you're back. So I just got a like a little, it's going to be our academy page where people can go in and learn stuff. Academy. Okay. And so similar sort of thing we did with the full screen video. I just want to give you a couple of different use cases. So I'm going to duplicate this. They've all got the same names, which is cool. And what I want to do is when this one's clicked all of these guys to get very small. So I shift, click...
ed them all. I'm going to make them all very small. That looks good. Nice. And this one gets bigger. This is a really cool way to show one of those carousel gallery type things always holding shift. Otherwise you kind of wrecked there. The ratio. Cool. So let's give it a go when this one is clicked, switch to prototype mode. Remember control tab and go into hell and go into here. So don't go to the yeah, just go to the art board and you say I would like the transition to be order animate and we've been using boring old he's out forever. Let's try bounce and if you turn bounce up to maybe two seconds you shouldn't. But I just want to show you the animation. So preview this, going and make him home sometimes I forget. Cool. Ready and click on this one. Ready? Okay, but you can see how bounce works. It's kind of cool. It's not for me. Let's add a little bit more to this one just to kind of add a bit more pizzas. Okay, so when this one is clicked, they're going to swap positions and it's just a matter of going back to design mode and going, okay, you need to become this like giant version holding shift so they all kind of locked in. I'm gonna send it to the back using my shortcut control shift, square bracket on a pc, control shift, command shift on a Mac. Getting these all the right size, you could probably just tie it in there. I should just type it in there. But relying on smart guides, it'll be fine. Back to top prototype mode. So when this one is clicked, it's going to go to this one and maybe when this one is going to toggle back to this one and this thing here, double click to get inside. It's going to go back to the homepage. Both of these are prototype or preview it. And so starting here clicking there. What? So it was that the homepage, I know what's going wrong now. So back to the first one, which is cool except I'm sick of bounce already. That clicks. Okay then I go over here and it goes just kind of flashes and these switches like what happened there? Okay, I know why it's because of the naming. So what ends up happening or what ended up happening in this one is they've all got the same name because we created these guys with the repeat grid. So these end up having the same name, which in this first case didn't matter, it kind of worked out what it needed to do, but here it got confused. So what we really need to do before we got this far into it is give them all unique name. Now, the transition between here and here is fine. So it's mainly this guy that's the problem. So he's called Course One. I'm gonna call him Course a Fx and I'm just going to copy it, paste it, Grab this guy, they have to have the same name. So even though they look the same, they're actually different now. So I'm gonna double click This one. Let's see if this fixes it. So we'll start here Clicks on this one, bouncy bounce, you can see the weird thing appearing over there. It's because they've all got the same names that kind of fixed it, there are some weird things going down in the bottom here, so I'm gonna have to work my way through now painfully and rename them all do them at the front, I'm not going to because I'm lazy, but we've worked out what that problem is, go through, make sure they all have the same names. One thing we will look at is we've kind of ignored the other bounce. I don't like bounce, I like wind up and snap, have their place. Okay, so I'm going to try wind up first, let's give it a preview, let's do it for all of them. Wind up to start slow and kind of finishes fast watch. Okay, and you add your own sound effect there? Good work. Uh wind up is, sorry snap is the basically the opposite of it. Okay, it just takes a little bit longer to get started and kind of comes in for a nice little rest at the end there, a little bounce, a little bit of bounce back, minds are maybe a bit slow. Okay, remember we've changed this default reckon won't be one second works nice, it's like anticipation from after effects, right, can you see just like a little bounce back? So good and then I'll wind up two seconds is too long. All right. One thing I want to throw in there, is that this is really cool, okay, and we've got six of them, which is long enough, but you're gonna have to like animate all of these and get them all to go back to different positions and that's fine. The only trouble is, you know, it's going to be for this. Like basically we only need to, to show really their basic example. If you want to try and work and wire up all of these or six of them, you're going to need this plus another six art boards. So we're kind of like 60 mock ups. It can get huge. If you want to add all these kind of micro interactions up to you, it might be worth it and what the client wants. But I've done it and the clients loved it. And then I've, you know, afterwards when I'm just doing kind of more the mundane kind of going through the motions updates to the documents and I just stopped doing it. I'm like, I'll just delete these because I don't need them anymore. The client sold it and they come back and like, hey, that thing's broken, can you make that work again? You're like, oh man, you end up, you know, we've only got six. Imagine if you had painful. Anyway, let's get on to another micro interaction. See in the next video

Thank you, Dan Scott, for providing such a beautiful Adobe XD course. I completed the course today and noticed a couple of things that are missing. I want to share them here so that you can upgrade the course, which would be helpful for us. Hover state and toggle state. Dragging pages from 1-2 to 2-3 and then back from 3-2 to 2-1 with dragging is not working. Another thing is that we learned scrolling the website from top to bottom, but scrolling or pushing things from right to left has been completely omitted. These are the things I have noticed, and I would like you to upgrade them so that we can improve our Adobe XD skills.
