Ballad - Part 2: Bass - Arranging with Logic Pro's 11's Session Players
OK. I feel like we have the keyboard player in a place that I'm happy with. Let's now move to uh let's now move to the bass, I think. So. New instrument, session player, bass player and let's create that. Ok. So the bass player has been loaded. Now, remember in that verse, we've just got rid of the bass note. So let's see what happens when we add in a bass player for the verse section. I want you to know that I love you. I know you feel it too. I am never go. I let you go. Our fire will always glow. OK? So it's kind of doing a busier rhythm like we were going for more an up, more of an upbeat track. However, we know we're making a ballad. So let's make this so much more simple. I'm gonna have a look in instrument. Why don't we try an, an upright bass for this? This might be a really interesting sound. Let's have a listen. I want you to know that I love you. I know you feel it too. I am. Let's just listen to the bass on its own. I quite like the sound, still feels a bit too busy. So let...
's go and try a different pattern. Let's try pattern one. OK. I like it. I think we can still make it simpler. So let's go bring complexity down. Let's listen to it with the piano as well. I think for the verse, it could be even simpler than that. So let's change melody here. We can pick how many notes it does. It's at the moment it's on some notes. Let's go to root only and see what happens. OK. Let's bring the full amount down. Let's bring the full complexity down. I'm happy with that. And that means that we can go busier within our chorus section. So let's copy this file over. Let's paste that in and now let us up the complexity. Let's change that to some notes. Let's add some more fills. Let's do fill complexity. Maybe we change the rhythm of it. Let's try rhythm two. Let's see how that sounds. OK. We can even add some more octaves. Let's do that as well. There we go. I'm happy with that. It doesn't need to be too complex because we've already got a really busy piano part. So therefore, our bass can add a bit more complexity, a bit more intensity, but it doesn't need to be as complex because the keyboard player are already doing that.
