Ace Studio Basics - Part 1: Importing MIDI and Adding Lyrics
Hi there and welcome to this video where we're going to be looking at a studio. So this is an application that allows you to write in A I vocals. You may remember previously that P to use synthe studio basic to generate vocals. A studio is similar to this but it gives you a few more options. Also, you may remember previously that Peter arranged a song in more of a disco upbeat style and a more down tempo ballad style. So in this video, we're going to be looking at creating A I vocals for both of these styles in a studio. A studio is paid software, but the date of recording this video, it does offer a free trial before we dive into a studio. Let's just quickly go back to melody studio. So I just want to mention here that you can export what you created as a midi file. So this will export the midi notes. It won't export the lyrics, but it will export the notes which can be a time saver if you're following along and you want to move from melody studio to a studio. OK. Let's go back to a s...
tudio and here I actually imported the midi from melody studio to a studio. You can see here, I do have the lyrics. I have added these manually. As unfortunately, we can't import these. We do have to manually add them. But if you're not importing any midi, you can just draw the notes in yourself. So for example, here we can just click to draw in a note and we can resize this from the left to right. So how long the note is? And we can click and drag to move up or down by default, it says da. But if you right, click on this and go to edit lyrics or command E on Mac or control E on Windows, we can type in the lyrics here. So I've just changed this to do, for example. So if I play this back now, so it may take a moment to render and you hear it says the word do. However, let's just click on this and press delete. We don't need this as I've already added in these notes. So I did go through manually and add the lyrics here. One interesting thing it does. If you do have a word with more than one syllable, you can just type it in and a studio will read this as two syllables. For example, here we have a live so it says a live one and a live two. So this will be a and this will be live a live, let's just play this back so you can hear this. I'll play it again. So it's our live, which is interesting. Every technically has three syllables. Every, but Peter wanted to write every as two syllables every. So this did confuse a studio slightly. So I did have to write in uh this. So I did have to write in re spell Evre A let me show you. So it's not perfect. Let me play it again and in paradise as well. So I had to put, I'm in paradise. When I typed in the word paradise, it didn't really work. So I had to type in these words separately here as well. I had to type in pa ra hard dice. It was meant to sing power red dice, but I couldn't really program that in. So I had to put pa Raha ice, which is the closest I could get. So there's a few things like this you do have to go through and tweak. But a lot of this, you should be able to work out with trial and error. One other thing I noticed with a studio. So if this is one long midi file, let's just right, click on this and go on to consolidate you notice here. It's very small and it's quite hard to edit. I haven't found a way of zooming in on this editor, but one workaround I found is to cut this every four bars and that way we can zoom in a lot closer so we can click where we want to cut and then right click and go on split. So if I click on this now, you can see it zoomed in a lot more. OK. That's just a few things I notice when working with a studio.
