How to Create AI Melodies with Melody Studio - Part 2: Chorus

OK. So now we are moving into the chorus section. So we've got some melody suggestions here. I'm just gonna press add, add melody or generate some new melodies for us. And let's have a look. OK. There's one. OK. There's another. OK. I'm already liking that one a little bit more just because it's higher in pitch. So, one thing that I'm noticing is that because the line is quite a short amount of syllables, we're not getting very fast melodies, which I'd quite like to get for my chorus. I'd like to be a little bit faster so that they've got a bit more excitement to them which fits the chorus section. So, what I'm going to do is I am going to copy these lyrics. Um So that the second line shifts into the first line as well. And let's see if that changes anything for us. So now that first line is just with every beat I feel so alive. Let's see what that comes up with. So at least now we're getting some faster melodies. Um Let's keep generating new ideas and see if it comes up with anything ...

that we wanna use for our chorus. OK. That's a potential. Let's keep going. That's a bit too low pitch for me. So not that one. Ok, let's go back. Let's try this one. OK. We're gonna use that and we're gonna edit it afterwards. So cos I quite like this with every b I think it's really nice and could be catchy and we just need to use more of it. Let's play it from there. So I think that works for, with every beat and then let's change it for. I feel so alive. So it matches it a little bit more. So this note needs to be up here. So how would I sing it? Potentially I'll go with every beat. I feel so alive like that. So this live is gonna have to be up on the D note. Let's listen to it one more time and see how we're going. Ok. So the first thing I've noticed is that this note on feel has to be the same as the note on EV. So let's bring that down, let's listen to it one more time. Ok. I'm happy with that. I think that's gonna work pretty well. I'll just try singing that now. So it feels right for me to sing with everybody. I feel so alive. Yeah. That feels nice. I'm enjoying that now, in order to make that even more memorable and hooky and catchy, I need to just copy that melody entirely. So we're gonna copy the line three now into line two and we're gonna do the same for line four is gonna go into line two now. So we're gonna copy what we did with the first line and then we're gonna just copy this melody over except not with that note. Here we go and take that note out. So let's see what that sounds like now. OK. So with every be, I feel so alive from dusk till dawn, I'm in paradise. OK. So we just had some clunky moments with melody studio where it's not sometimes not letting me generate certain melodies for some reason. I'm not sure why. Obviously this is uh a pretty new piece of software that's still kind of working out his teething problems. But thankfully, I've got it working again. Um So now we're looking for suggestions on paradise. Paradise, paradise. So let's see what it comes up with. So there it came up with practically the same melody that we had previously. Um So maybe we could keep using that and it will make it even more memorable because it's so repetitive. But let's go down and see if there's anything else. OK? I quite like the shape of that la da da da da. However, I think it would not quite work with the phrasing cos it would go Paradise Pa which would sound weird because you wouldn't be finishing off the second Paradise. So let's keep going again. That would affect the phrasing of it. So I'm just gonna stick with, with this one here here, but potentially change up some of the uh where the lyrics are sitting so that it, it flows a bit better for, for singing. So let's have a listen to that. OK. So right now we've got paradise. Paradise, paradise. However, there's part of me that feels like we can make this two paradises and it would flow a bit better. So at the moment, it's going paradise. Paradise, paradise, which just feels a bit awkward. However, if instead we made it paradise, paradise, that then would only be two paradises, but it would feel a little bit smoother and more fluent and, and less clunky to sing. So we're gonna take off this last paradise here. OK? So I've just spent a good 10 to 15 minutes just trying to wrestle with this software to see if it can give me a, a melisma. So a melisma is when you use more than one note for a syllable. So just say I was using the word love. Uh a syllabic rendition of that would just be singing like love. Whereas a melis Matic way of singing that might be la. So I'm using more than one note for one syllable. I wanted to try and add a melisma to the word paradise. Uh Unfortunately, this software doesn't seem, seem to be able to do it. It seems like it's a limitation. So, um this is something that you'll encounter quite a bit often with using these Softwares as they're quite new. They're constantly evolving at this point in time. Um There may be a way to add a melisma to the uh to the word, but um it's not obvious right now. So what we're gonna do instead is we are going to use a previous melody that's already been used, which is on, I'm in paradise. So we're just gonna play that like that and we're gonna use that for our refrain coming up. So I am going to copy that and we are going to change these lyrics. So, as I've just said, it's uh the, the U I right now is not completely ST like streamlined. I'm having issues with trying to uh bring these l change the lyrics and then bring them back onto this melody part of the bottom. So we're just gonna have to run with it. This is ultimately a part of using new technology, new tools that always going to um have issues that hopefully will get improved as they go along. But hopefully, you can kind of relate to what we're going through. So let's have a listen to where we're at. So we've got from dusk till dawn, I'm in paradise. Let's just play from this point. I've copied this melody of from dusk till dawn into uh into the next bit. So my thing is potentially what we could do is sing Paradise. Paradise like that. So that's what we're gonna try and make within the melody. Um So I'm going to delete this here. We're gonna just move this along to there. So it's gonna sound like this. Let's go from here and then I'll probably do exactly the same after that. So we're gonna copy that, use it again. Delete that, just copy that into here and I'm gonna change these lyrics up here just so that we know where we are. So Paradise. Paradise, they'll probably sing it once again. Let's just place this one. Ok. So now we've got that there for Paradise. Paradise. Unfortunately, the lyrics and the melody aren't syncing up, but we know where we are. We wanna sing Paradise. Paradise a couple of times over and over. So that's our chorus melody done. And then what we need to do is we just need to copy over the melody that we used in the, for the first verse over to the second verse. So we'll do that quickly now.
