How many options should you give clients?
So how many package options should you give a client? Now, I personally have found that there's no right or wrong answer for this. It depends on the client. It depends on the complexity of the service that you're looking to provide. What I found works quite well. If you're unsure is to give three options and three options which are of different levels of intensity. So what do I mean by that? So for a website development project, I may state out three packages that look a little bit, something like this. So package one might include me just looking at the actual strategy behind the website and then giving you the structure of the pages. Now, it could be something along the lines of the strategy, the structure, but also actually visually designing each page and delivering it to you as a PDF. And then there's package three, which is the most expensive, which is ultimately me doing the strategy, the structure, the design and then actually building the website. give yourself the best chance of offering a good range of options for your client, just have different levels of packages at different levels of cost. Give the client an idea as to how much it's going to cost to work with you and maybe they're just going to work with you in regard to the most basic package because that's all they can afford. But you're never going to know unless you offer them a range of options. Now again, there's no right or wrong answer here, but this is essentially what I do when I'm not sure what the client's budget is and also how intensely they want me to work with them anyway.
