Action - Take Product Pictures
in this video, you're going to be taking photos of your product. Now before I get started, I want to make sure that you're not moving on to this step until you found a sample that you liked. So if you have chosen the sample that you want to move forward with and decided that that's the supplier that you want to import your product from, then that's great. It's time for you to move on to this step. But if you haven't chosen a sample that you like yet, go back and make sure you do that. And if you still haven't found that sample that you like, you might have to order some more product samples or worst case scenario, pick a new product entirely. But it's really important that you do that before watching this video. But hopefully by now you have a sample, it's high quality, you're happy with it and you're ready to move forward. And if that's the case, it's time for you to take photos of your product when it comes time to list your products on amazon, The # one factor in selling your produc...
t is having high quality photos. And since we're trying to get your products up and listed on amazon as quickly as possible, we want to take those photos right now with the sample that's sitting in front of you. Now, when it comes to taking these photos, you have a lot of options and the first one is to contact your supplier directly and ask for photos and we recommend that you do this first, before anything else because you have nothing to lose. And you can also maybe get some great photos and you're done with this. You don't have to do anything else. But often you're not going to get such great photos from your supplier. And if that's the case you can do it yourself, which is D. I. Y. But I only recommend you do this. If you're a photographer, I try to do this myself and I do a lot of video work. And even then it was really hard for me to get great photos and I wasn't happy with the quality of photo that I took. Of course, if you're already a photographer and you have the equipment to light your products in a way that looks flattering to the product, then D. I. Y. Was going to be your cheapest and fastest option. The next option you have is to go local and here if you have a local business that takes these kinds of photos, you can reach out to them and go in person or you might be able to find someone on craigslist that can take these photos for you. Another option for you is to go to Fiverr dot com and fiber is a place where people will exchange their services for a low cost. Now this is your cheapest option to get great photos. If you can't get them through your supplier and you can't do it yourself and your final option is to go pro and this is the highest quality photos you can possibly have, but also at the highest price. So we're going to dive a little bit deeper into each of these five options. The first option is to ask your supplier for images, and it doesn't matter what channel you're using to communicate with your supplier. Just send them a message saying, hey, can you please send me photos of this product and make sure to ask for taking in your studio. If you don't say this very often, they're going to send you a product of them just holding the product in their hands. But when you ask for in your studio, they're only going to send you photos of that product against a nice backdrop and it's usually a white background, and also make sure to ask for no logos on it, You don't want anyone else's logos in your product photo. So do that doesn't hurt you have nothing to lose and hopefully you get some great photos out of this. The next option is D. I. Y. And as I mentioned before, I only recommend this if you're a photographer, I do a lot of work with live video and I was pretty confident, maybe a little bit cocky, that oh, I can take some great D I. Y photos, but I really had a lot of trouble with that. And I'm obviously not a photographer, but if you are a photographer, this is a great option to do it, cheap and high quality. The next option is to go local and this is going to be your quickest option. And that's because you're gonna be working with someone nearby you and there's no need to ship your product to somebody else or to a studio somewhere else. And so you might be able to see if there's any local businesses that specialize in this type of photography or any photography studios, just give them a call and ask them if they do product photography. Another option is you can go on craigslist and see if there's anyone that can do this for you and you can just post this as a job. The next option you have is fiber. And this is the cheapest way to get nice looking product photos and how this works is you order a gig on fiber and they're going to give you an address that you can ship your product to. And once they receive your product they'll take nice photos of it against the white background and you can use those images for your amazon listing. And if you want to do this, head over to Fiverr dot com and type in amazon product photography. Now, the final option is to go pro and this is going to cost you Over $150, but it will give you the highest quality photos possible for your amazon listing. And if you don't do this from the beginning, which is very understandable, especially if you're trying to start your product on the lowest budget possible. This is something you're probably gonna want to do in the future. Once your product has proven itself and it's selling well then you're gonna want to take nicer photos because high quality photos help sell your product. So I really want to emphasize this is not a requirement. And don't worry if you don't want to spend this much money in the beginning, if that's the case, you're probably gonna want to use fiber or a local service or maybe even photos from your supplier. But down the road, taking pro level photos is gonna make more money for you because you're going to sell more product. Now we have one studio that we really like and you can find it by going to import panda dot com backslash photos and that will redirect you straight to the studio called Virtuous graphics. Now, I want to show you the photos that I received from my supplier when I asked for them and as you can see these photos are pretty nice but not amazing. So what I'm gonna do is at this point in my journey, I'm gonna go ahead and use these product photos, once my product has proven itself and started to make more sales, I'm gonna upgrade some nicer quality photos. But for now this is good enough and I'm thankful that my supplier had them for me pause this video now and go take photos of your product. By now, you've taken photos of your product. In the next video, you're going to negotiate with your supplier based on the quality of your sample.
