Ok, let's think about your wardrobe, right. What are you going to wear as a wedding photographer? Now, this differs for everybody right? There is a balance of looking nice and being comfortable, right? And it also kind of depends on the actual wedding that you're shooting as far as, uh, you know, upscale easy backyard wedding or, you know, at a five star resort. So I'm gonna tell you what my go to, uh, wardrobe is for me and that might change for you. Um, I think, um, women have a little bit different of a wardrobe than men might. Um, or you might have a little bit different style that you want to represent yourself as I think the main things are to be able to look nice in the sense that you can blend in with. Yes, that to me is very important, but you also wanna have some comfort ability, right? Because you will be on your feet for upwards of 68, 12 hours. So you personally have to figure out what works well for your feet. Um, as far as nice shoes go, I don't know if I would necessari...

ly wear running shoes or really comfortable tennis. Um I have done that before when I've had an injury, but it helps that they're black, right? The idea is to be comfortable, but also blend in with guests. So that when you're there, you don't look at a place, but also you're representing yourself um in a formal way at a formal event, right? It is a very important day for a lot of people um at the wedding that you're attending. And so it's very important that you are there representing yourself. Well, as a guest as looking like a guest, not a guest in general. So what I wear is typically a buttoned up shirt. Um it'll either be blue or white, so it's a little bit more, um you know, calmer. I have seen a lot of um male and female wedding photographers who wear black, which is also really great because you're not reflective, you kind of blend in a little bit more. Um I have on occasion used black uh shirts and then I'll have a tie on. I will wear a tie and then I have my leather strap that you on the earlier sections and that alone, it looks like I'm just a guest with suspenders. And part of the reason I use that strap is because it looks a little less intimidating. It looks more like I'm there as a guest and I can bring up my smaller camera and take a picture without people getting too nervous that the photographer is there. I'll also wear some nice, uh, I have some nice boots, some red wings. Um, and the tie that I usually wear and you can see in these photos is a tie that I actually got as a groomsman. Um, and you know, it's very wedding. Ask again, the idea is that you represent yourself in a formal manner that you can blend in with the guests that you're not standing out because um you are there to photograph the wedding, right? We don't want people necessarily being drawn to you attention wise um in the sense that like, you know, I I mean, I guess it depends on your style. I'm much more of a photo-journalistic fly on the wall. So I wanna blend in with the crowd. Um And I wanna be able to talk to the guests. I wanna be able to interact with them in the sense that I can get good photos out of them. But I also wanna be able to look uh formal, right? We wanna know that like this couple is spending money on you and you have taken this seriously and you have put together a wardrobe that looks good. So you have to figure out what works for you comfortable, but also blending in and to do that, I would say like you can go on Pinterest or you go on Google and you can actually type in wedding photography or wardrobe to get some ideas on what works well for your style. I think at a certain point too, you can think about branding, right? Like I know some wedding photographers that have very specific hats that they always wear when they're out uh photographing weddings and it's become sort of their brand and they recognized for that. So you can start to build in that sense with your wardrobe. Um, but I can tell you from experience that finding something comfortable that you also don't have to think about on the day of, um, or if you sweat a lot, right? Like I actually do sweat a lot and so I will wear undershirts or I'll wear the white shirt or the lighter color shirt, so they don't sweat through it. Um, mostly just to, again, you know, be presentable on the day of the wedding in a formal manner and then thinking about heat and cold, um making sure to hydrate yourself and not be wearing enough, uh, you know, like a sweatshirt or something like a big heavy jacket that so you can't move around with your photos, right? Because you will be moving around a lot, moving the camera a lot, walking a ton. Um I think I've heard of also with your shoes having insoles that are really comfortable, um, is a really good step. I would actually practice if you're worried about it and you're about to shoot your first like 68 hour wedding. Um, I would spend a day before the wedding in the wardrobe that you're gonna wear and go out and go for a walk, go for a shoot, see what is comfortable and restricting so that you don't have to think about any of that. Um, you still look nice but you don't have to think about any of that while you're actually shooting the wedding. So, get out there, try some stuff and, uh, make sure that you feel comfortable and confident. Um, so that way it won't affect your ability to be creative. Um, have fun and, uh make sure that you're putting on a good face as a photographer.
