This is going to be a quick one because we have been talking about this throughout our editing. But I wanted to talk to you about editing lots of photos. I mean, like hundreds of photos in an efficient way. Now, I've mentioned a lot that we want to save our time, right? It's important to understand that if you're delivering hundreds of photos, 203 104 100 you have to start to get the mindset that you don't need to spend a ton of time on every single photo. Now, we're not actually gonna like go in and I'm gonna edit and 200 photos in front of you. But let's talk about the tools that we have been using to make sure that we can get through all of those photos. So let's think back, let's think back to our uh culling and our organizing, right? That's the first step calling, organizing. Now that you know what you're capable of editing and doing when you call and you go through photos and you organize, you'll understand what you can do quickly and what you can't do quickly and what you're go...

nna need to spend more time on or not spend more time on. Right. Like the portraits, for instance, you'll probably wanna spend more time on uh the photos where there's a lot of people in them. You might want to spend more time on it because you're cleaning up faces and whatnot and you're probably going to want to be able to move through them quickly. So you won't pick a lot of them. You don't need to give them eight different versions of one group photo. You just need to find the one where everyone's looking, everyone's set up and you can edit just that one. Also. Remember the copy and paste, right? That's earlier on when you find an edit and you're in the same room or you're in the same place, kind of like what we're looking at right here. All this, all these photos were taken in the same area other than maybe this darker one. All these photos were taken in the same area where you can just copy and paste a lot of the edits, right? And they're all kind of the same. We don't have to worry about each individual one other than maybe be fixing up our bride or whatnot like that. And in general, that's also going to help you move faster through all these photos. Now, I delivered 260 photos of just the wedding. So that's the pre ceremony, some quick portraits and the ceremony itself and I went through and copied and pasted it a lot. That also being said, let's think about your style, your presets. That's a good place that you can start. If you've already built your own preset for your uh particular camera, your particular setting, you can copy and paste those or you can apply those to a bunch of photos right away and that'll give you a head start even if it's just upping the exposure, upping the contrast, uh taking away some clarity um making some sharpness or changing the color. Even if that's just a head start over time, over 304 100 photos, that's gonna save you a step. So apply it to a bunch of photos and then everything's already good to go and then you can just go individually. I would say in general, I think I mentioned this before. I don't, now that I'm quick and fast and practiced at it, I wouldn't spend more than a minute on every photo and even a minute I think is a long time. I would maybe half a minute once you get speedy and fast at it. Um because you want to like equate what you're making money wise to what you're doing, editing wise as well. And we talked about that in an earlier lesson about what you should be charging and how to break that down. But let's think about editing if you're editing 400 photos and you're spending one minute on every photo, that's 400 minutes. That's a lot of time. So divide that by 60 that's how many hours you're spending, which is fine. You could spend an entire day or an afternoon on the entire wedding, which is absolutely fine. Um But you're probably gonna end up spending closer to 5, 1015 minutes on those portraits, right? So you wanna save that time for the really important photos. And if you're doing multiple weddings, if you have a wedding every weekend or you have two in a weekend, you're spending a lot of time editing and you just have to find the balance. That's what I'm trying to get, be able to edit hundreds of photos efficiently but well and also balance that with your business, with your advertising, with the social media, with the the gear research, with updating your equipment, cleaning it, getting new clients meetings, it's a full time job. So if you enjoy the editing aspect of it, spend more time editing, do that, enjoy that and make it worth your money. Um and less time on the other stuff if you feel like you can. But keep in mind this is why I have it its own lesson. Keep in mind you have to be efficient. You have to balance the art, the quality and the time that you and effort you're going to put in two hundreds of photos. And don't forget we also still have to export these photos and that takes time to write, exporting, uploading, downloading all the things. Um Yeah, so the reason I have this as his own lesson is just we're not gonna look at this right now, but just hear me um make sure that you think about that and it's part of your business. It's part of how much money you're gonna make. It's part of your time. It's part of everything, think about what it takes now that you've learned some basic editing, what it takes to edit and how much time you think you'll need and remember to balance that out as a business person and as an artist. Um where does your effort lie and how much time you're going to spend on it? I know this is not really like a lesson lesson, but it's just something that I wanted to make sure that you understand and you know, in this section it takes time, balance and uh and skill and practice and you'll get there.
