Action Item: Find inspiration
Your second action item is to find inspiration like you've gone and to find poses that you like go and find wedding photos that inspire you. Look at the color, look at the composition, look at what the people are doing in frame, look at the poses like we had just done, but find inspiration and get those together. Now, Pinterest is a good place to do that. Screenshotting, taking photos of stuff, creating a book, printing them out, making a collage, whatever you need to do to find inspiration, go on Instagram and save uh wedding inspiration photos. There's a ton of wedding ins rational photos on social media, Pinterest, Instagram, Google, but find it right? Go look at stuff. Start studying, start immersing yourself because that's what's gonna help you get to your style. Once you find inspiration, find the stuff you like start to look at the themes, right? Like if you're picking out a lot of black and white Candids, chances are, that's probably something that you're gonna be aesthetically...
interested in doing. And the more you study those, the more you'll feel comfortable doing that in the field. Same with if you're starting to pick really saturated, colorful, you know, pose shots with vignettes, maybe that's something you need to look into. Trying more of the idea here is to go and start looking for inspiration that's going to push you when you're actually photographing weddings. It's OK to try and mimic someone else's photograph. It's not like you're copying their style because you still have to go out in the field, do the right settings, put them in the right place, get them uh to pose correctly and shoot it and edit it. So finding inspiration, trying to replicate that there's nothing wrong with it. That's how you work as an artist. And if you can figure out how to do that as an artist, it will in it will inform and make all the business stuff much easier, right? And then people will start to see that in your work. They'll start to see that you're building your own style, you're building your own inspiration and your own photography business. So go out, look for inspiration, study it, think about how it's done and then put it into action.
