The Death Scenario
Now my favorite, favorite thing. The death scenario. If you were going to die tomorrow, what would you create today? If this is your last chance. I know, we're not getting heavy or anything, it's fine! (laughter) But it's so important to know this! So how many of you guys could say, "I know what I would do," right now, without even thinking. You're just like, "I know what "I need to say, to leave behind." Blank stares, no, okay. (nervous giggles) It's really hard, it's really hard. But the moment you figure this out, is the moment you understand your brand, your business, your creativity, everything. What do you want to stand for? If you're going to exit this earth, what do you want to leave behind? What is your legacy going to be? And how will you embody that in a single image? It's such a difficult thing to confront. Mortality, nobody wants to think about that. But, but what are you gonna do? Now, I'm not gonna make you answer that right now, because obviously this is a big question ...
and I don't really want to make light of it, because I believe that if you do nothing else, find a way to answer this question. Not today maybe, over time, fine. But start to build the answer to it. And I've got my own answer to it, that maybe I'll share at another time. And it changes, you know, it shouldn't necessarily stay one thing. Hopefully, the goal is, you make that thing, and then you move onto the next thing that you would have to make before you die. That's really the goal, isn't it? What if every single time you put a picture out, it was the thing that you had to say before you die? What if? Oh my gosh, that would be great.
