Get Involved Day
Hello and welcome back. Today we talk about get involved day. What does that even mean? Get involved getting involved, meaning that you are showcasing your passion. It's going to showcase the human side of you. It's going to show other people that you're not just like a part of the wheel, but that you actually the part that pushes the wheel because you have an opinion and opinions about something that really matter to you. So how does this entire thing work? Well, so every company and every person, ideally, but a lot of companies support causes, and that could be any, anything from supporting cancer to Children to animals, but the environment, perhaps, or building houses. But there is so much out there that you can choose from. But I bet it's gonna be really easy for you to find something that you can get 100% behind. And for the artists in you, I know there's organizations that actually provide art supplies for, you know, Children in shelters that do art projects. So there is so much ...
to choose from that there is really no excuse for you to get involved. And now I'm going to tell you why that matters For two things. Number one, it gets you a unbelievable opportunity to network with people. And who are the people that are running these organizations? Well, they're people that are just like you there people who were doing something that are volunteering, that times the effort to make the world a better place or to make people live a better life or to make animals be safe and protected, or to rescue animals from from from terrible, mean and awful people. So there's a lot you can you can choose from That resonates with you, and you are going to be meeting movers and shakers. So I have found that in a lot of the nonprofit organizations, there are very, very powerful people. And here's why. When you rise to the top, there is a principle that kicks in where you have been very blessed, fortunate to achieve a position off power. Any good leader whom I know is involved in some organization, and you will be flabbergasted to see just who is at these kinds of organizations and who is at the board. And so when there is a community event where your you know your newfound community involvement is taking place. Guess what? There's an excellent chance that you'll be in that soup kitchen standing right next to this person who you would be dying to meet and could never meet. But you can, because now you're connected with them through a mutual affiliation in a particular cause. Both of you happen to be really passionate about it means get involved and you want to be a part off an organization because it gives you additional networking opportunity with, you know, with such a broad network of people. And as I said, there's nothing like passion projects. People get very passionate about these projects, which is what we call them passion projects, just in case that needed to be explained again. So what's our task here for today? Our lesson for today is I want you to start first in your company in search for what causes your company is actually supporting, because that will give you the greatest opportunity and exposure to some of the movers and shakers in your organization. If that doesn't exist that you can't find anything that resonates with you, you know, start researching some of these causes in your community that you can get fully behind and start to join one of these organizations. So today's lesson is go to the workbook Day nine page number 12. Identify again, your organization and what they involved in, or search for additional causes and opportunities and then join it. And that's it for today, and I see you again for the next lesson.
