We have a playback button right up here on the top left corner. Obviously gonna playback the most recent image. From here, you can delete, of course. You can previous and next image with the controller on the side. Or you can use the dial in the front of the camera. If you want, you can use the joystick as well. If you want, there's a little shortcut if you press twice in on that, you can switch cards. If you have images on card one and card two, you can switch back and forth in that regard. One of the other things that you can do on this, let's see if I have it here. Turn to zoom in and out. If you wanna magnify your image, you can see it a little bit more closely. Let's go ahead and take a little demo look at the back of the camera here. Playback and let's see if we can find. Turning the camera on, playing back, find an image that looks reasonably sharp here. For zooming in, you can see you turn this dial to zoom in. You can use the little joystick to pan around your image and see ot...

her things to look at in here. Zoom back out and if we wanna do this by touch... let's see if we can get this to work. There we did. You can just move around with your fingers. It's a tad on the laggy side, as you can see there, but it's still pretty good. We can swipe from one photo to the next, going through things. Let's see if we can enlarge just with a pinch. Yep. And move around. There's a variety of ways that you can work with that on the touchscreen. Alright, next up. You can change the way the image is portrayed to you, so that you can see more or less information by pressing the display button on the back of the camera. You go from standard view, which gives you a little bit of information, to just a straight image, to a lot of information with the info display. You can also go to favorites, where you can star rate your images. That'll be added to the metadata, which will then be transferred onto post-processing programs like Lightroom, for instance. You can also go up and down with the top of the control panel over on the right hand side. This will pull up additional information about how the camera is shot. This takes that basic display and gives you a little bit more information. Both of those ways are ways for changing the display to change. The Q button will allow you to go in and make a raw conversion, if you have shot a raw image. One of the advantages of this is that you don't need a computer in order to make a jpeg image. If you're traveling and you're shooting raw images, you don't have your computer with you, but you wanna upload a jpeg image and send it off to somebody or post it somewhere, you can shoot raw on the camera, take that jpeg image, adjust it as needed. You can lighten it, darken it, and make many other adjustments, and then have that jpeg saved right onto the same memory card. It's a good feature to have, especially for travel photography. The playback button, if you hold it in for two seconds, it'll switch from card slot one to card slot two. This is one of many different shortcuts that I'm going to be showing you throughout the class. There's a lot of these little buttons that you press two times, or you hold in for two or three seconds, and they do something different or they change the different function on it. Lemme show you on my camera what that looks like here, cause I do have two memory cards in the camera. I don't think I've been writing to one of the cards. I think I've just been writing to one card. If I press and let's see... If I hold in on this play button... Try it again. There we go. So I switched over to card two. You can see that highlighted up here. There's no image on there. I'll just press the play button, hold in on it again, and it switches back to card one. Let's do that again, so that you can see switch to card slot two. Hold it in again. It's switched to card slot one. That's the very simple way. Now you can go into the menu system and you can do it from the menu system as well. But it's one of about a dozen different secret functions on this camera that I'll be letting you know about as we go through the class. If you are playing back a video, things work a little bit differently. There are different controls. When you play back the video, you'll hit the down part of that control panel on the back to get it playing. You can hit up for stop. Then of course, you can go fast forward and rewind by going either left or right on that. If it is volume that you would like to adjust, you can hit the center of that, which is the okay button, and then go up or down to control the volume. You can also do a lot of the same basic controls with the joystick as well. Of course, deleting is the same as deleting a still photograph. If you do wanna format your cards, there is a place in the menu system for deleting the images, clearing everything, and getting it reset. Clearing off all the file directories and everything else that might be on that card. You can do that in a shortcut way by pressing the trash button for two seconds and pressing the rear command dial. This is kind of interesting. Let's do a little demo on that. I may wanna keep these images on card one, so I'm gonna try to see if I can do this for card two. I'm gonna hold in on the trash button for two seconds. One thousand one, one thousand two. Press down on the dial over here. I can reformat, and this basically jumps me in the menu system directly to format. If I wanna reformat card slot two, I'll select this. I'll go up to okay and press okay. If you really wanna get rid of stuff, it's holding down the garbage can button for two seconds, and then hitting the button on the right hand side. Did I not get it for two seconds now? Let's try it again. I pushed my luck here on this one. Yeah, I think I didn't just wait long enough. It might be three seconds. It might be 2.5 seconds on there. If I don't wanna do this, I can just simply back out of this and it backs out of the menu system. That's how that works. Alright, another little shortcut is if you press playback and then menu, you get to the somewhat secret playback menu. Normally when you press the menu option on the camera, there is no playback functions in there. You do have to hit the playback, and then you get to the regular menu. Let me do a little demonstration on that. Gonna show you first off, when you press the menu, over on the left hand side, we're gonna go through this in the second half of the class. We have all these different tabs of information, but there's nothing for playback. If you play back an image, playback. Are we playing back an image? Yes we are. Then we hit menu. Then we get to that green playback option, which there are three sub-tabs in there of more information. We'll go through all of that in the menu section, but that is just one of those additional shortcuts on this camera. If you can memorize all twelve of these, that'll be very good for you cause it's hard for me to do.
