Class Introduction
So let's take a look at how to think about this class and then we'll jump into Photoshop and get started. So by the end of this class my goal is to have you learn to become confident and to actually start enjoying Photoshop, not just going through steps that you might read online but actually knowing what you're doing and feeling confident. Then I want you to understand more deeply the most important features, so instead of again just following steps you actually know what the steps do and therefore you're not stuck following some pre-arranged steps that you might follow, instead you can come up with your own techniques 'cause you actually know how things work. And then I want you to be able to transform dull and ordinary looking images into ones that you can really be proud of that look great. And also be able to combine multiple images together into a single Photoshop file to create a composite that is better than any of the individual images you started with. And of course we'll get...
into retouching and I wanna show you how to truly think about the various retouching tools so you can tackle jobs just like a pro would. So who is the class really designed for? Well there's a wide range of Photoshop users and I try to make it so beginners that want an in-depth introduction to Photoshop would really enjoy the class and one of the things that would really be good about that is that we don't stay at a beginner level, instead you can advance into intermediate and some cases even advanced techniques, as long as you got a good foundation to start with then you can be ready to get into those more intermediate and advanced techniques. Self-taught Photoshop users usually have a very limited range of knowledge with Photoshop and so I wanna be able to fill in the gaps in your knowledge if you're self-taught so you know how to be much more efficient at what you're doing and really just learn how to be better. Then long-time Photoshop users the problem is Adobe comes out with new features in Photoshop all the time. And sometimes those new features are hidden in ways that are not easy to discover on your own. Sometimes you need to hold down a special keyboard shortcut or go to a menu that you're not used to exploring in order to find them. Well if you're an advanced and long-time user you'll learn about a lot of those new features. Now with that though, there will be some things the beginners it'll be too much for them and that's on purpose in that. So at the beginning of a session it'll be great for a beginner, but by the time a session is over when we're a ways through the class you'll have a reason to come back and rewatch the class. Because if all I did was keep it at a beginner level, then that's all we got. I want you to truly become proficient at using Photoshop and therefore I'll have some things that you'll wanna come back and review the class for to take it on a second look. But then average users might just want a refresher, make sure that you're doing things efficiently because most of the time you learn just the way that connected with you first as far as techniques go, but there's usually ways that are much more efficient where you can become faster at Photoshop and so if you're an average user you've been using Photoshop for a while, you go through this class I think you're gonna find how to be much faster at what you do. Now there's already a bunch of people in that group 'cause we used it with previous Creative Live classes, so it'll be really nice 'cause you get a lot of feedback.

I really enjoy to get this update of the PS course. If we still have the "easy to teach" Ben's touch, the new approach per main topic is more easy to access". Nevertheless, I would strongly suggets to provide a general Table of contents (Topic/lessons) to be able to get back in the appropriate lesson when needed.Thank you and congrats

I found this class okay with the exception of some of the individual chapters incorrrectly titled. Example would be the last says Lightroom instead of Photoshop. He also speaks at nuke speed. I'm guessing Creative speeded up to make the class shorter but I don't think it's recommended for all ages.

Ben's style is easy to follow and he goes into depth without going in so deep that you lose him. I have been watching Ben's classes for several years and never fail to learn something significant from each class that I watch. Highly recommend!
