Copywriting Q&A
I think my biggest problem right now is that I, like, she kind of mentioned it before, is that paralyzation of, okay, I'm not a photographer. You've got copy, you've got branding, all these things ... Where do you start? And if you can't, if you don't know if you're going to be curating this beautiful feed, Is it worth it to start, or do I wait and find some pictures, or do we-- Okay, so I could be totally wrong, but what I feel from you is totally natural. When you sit all day under, like drinking from a fire hydrant. (audience laughing) I understand that, so what I did today was I outlined where I think we should be going collectively, as a group. So don't worry about curating a feed. Let's build out your ideal client, baby steps. And once we know that ideal client, one day you're just answering 20 questions. That's it, and the next day, you fill in the blanks for ad-libs. And then the next day, we're going to make a list of where you think that person hangs out online. You're not ...
going more than there. Then you're going to find where they hang out on Facebook, Then you find where they-- it's baby steps. Don't worry about the feed, the feed's gonna come to you once you're actually participating online, once you know who that person is, once you're going in that direction, you're going to feel confident with that. So don't worry about-- No! all the other stuff out there right now. Not yet, not yet. I'm forecasting, I'm giving you the 30,000-foot view. And when we start going through this in a few days as a collective group, we're gonna be at ground floor. So, that's where I'll take you. Don't worry, stick with me, stick with me. Yes. So for all these copywriting suggestions, you do that for blog posts only, or do you also do it for your Instagram posts, or your Facebook page posts. That's a really good question. To me, the copywriting is for long form because Instagram truncates at 85 characters. So I try, to the best of my ability, now I've thrust and throttled with what I should do, I don't believe in every post should be a long post. I know that some people do, and that's their audience. Because I know Ell, because I know she has two kids, and I know she's on the go, I try to keep two or three posts under 85 characters, and then one long one that's gonna be value driven. So, no, I'm saying-- to grab their attention, and after that attention grab, we're going to this, because it's so short. And then Facebook, I don't know exactly the character count, but it also truncates. So I'm like, I'm gonna get my point across for status updates. Now, I will use attention grabber, and reel them in when I want to point them to a blog post. So, are you looking for ways-- Do you wanna know how to use Facebook Live for your business? Here's the quickest way to get the most bang for your buck and the biggest organic reach. That was reeling them in, I give them the link, and they hopefully click on that, when they get there. Are you tired, are you overwhelmed, do you feel intimidated by Facebook Live? I'm gonna walk you through my checklist, watch this video, so I'm doing that pattern. And you'll see, now that I've pointed it out, you're gonna see, like frigging clockwork. That's what I do, and I know it works. And if I find a way to fix it, I'll add another step. Thank you.

I have followed Jasmine since she first started and I am not a photographer. But I loved how smart she was in helping her fellow photographers grow their business back then and her enthusiasm and professionalism! I have am a honeymoon designer and have used her vision to help with my own website. This boot camp was great! Yes, I am one of the people who watched it for free online. I would love to be able to purchase her materials/workbook, but unfortunately at this time, husband has been unemployed for the past 18 months and my business has been put on the back burner in order for me to go out and try to find a job. But I decided to go ahead and sign up for the class and watch it even though there were so many distractions. I watched the entire class and SO GLAD I DID! I'm ripping off the band-aid and starting my entire website over again thanks to Jasmine and Promise. I'm going to implement the tips that she gave us today and hopefully that will be enough to propel my business back into the limelight! So glad that I stumbled upon your website/blog 10 years ago. Thank you so much and continued blessings to you!

Wow, where to start. When you come to a class you're hoping you can learn just one thing, and it will be worth it - and I can tell you, in just the first 30 MINUTES of the class I had furiously scribbled down so many takeaways that everything else was gravy. And there was a LOT LEFT (that was all amazing). But let's be specific: the biggest thing I learned from Jasmine is how detailed and purposeful her ideal client is. Absolutely everything was chosen for a reason, and watching someone at this level talk about that was incredible. Also, I know what you're thinking: "Ideal client" is not a novel idea - HOWEVER! she makes it accessible. Her honesty and hard work shine through, and I can safely say I'm walking away from this class as a changed entrepreneur. I have a direction. I have a goal. I finally have a way to be purposeful about growing my business. THANK YOU Jasmine!!!!!!!!!11!one!!

Do yourself a favor! This was an amazing class! Jasmine knows how to bring out the best in her students. The concepts she embodies apply to so many other businesses. And her friend Promise is so caring and honest about the advice she gives on how to build a better website, in a world where our storefronts are turning more and more into an digital one. I am so charged up and ready to take my business to the next level. Jasmine is a tremendous business woman and has helped so many people over the years. And she has had that helping heart since day one of her business. Thanks Jasmine!
