Montana Module Intro

We're in Montana. Today's the first day of summer. So it's the perfect day to film the part two of the summer photography workshop. So it's been a complicated journey because I've wanted to focus on experiential photography for this one and I broke my wrist a few weeks ago which meant I haven't been able to do as many things as I wanted, but I've come up with a plan in the scope of the workshop to show you how to take photos outside. And it's, it's a different take on it. I have a few things planned for you, but if you only remember one thing about the part two of this workshop is that I want you to start thinking and start figuring out how do you tell stories versus how others do? So I have a field day planned where I go shooting two of my friends and we go motorcycle, motorcycle, camping and I wanna show you how I tell that story through a set of images and how I shoot wide compositions with the purpose that you can get thinking about how you tell stories. And in the editing module, ...

I will actually walk you through two different sets of images from two different photographers to legends from Magnum. And I will show you two, how two different photo sets from two different people have the same similar purpose which is to tell a story, but are shot in so many different ways. So my big goal here is that you start thinking about how do you tell stories. So this is the pillar of the summer workshop, and it's all around having experiences for me because I've been going through creative block this past few months. Actually, I haven't shot as much because we've moved into the new house. We've had a new office. There's just so many things to do. And I also did this so it hasn't been easy. So there's so many things going on and I haven't been able to shoot as much. I've been planning new workshops. So I was like, this is the perfect time to start talking again about photography, because I'm going through the thing I want you, I want to help you with. So it's, it's going to be, it's going to be special because I, myself, I'm going through it which mean I haven't been shooting as much, haven't been as inspired as as I used to because of many different things, but we're always under pressure, external pressures. So my solution for that always, my best way out of a creative block is through experiencing things. So this is why this whole thing is about experiential photography. There are four episodes in this workshop, the intro which you're seeing now episode one. Episode two is field day shooting motorcycles and camping at Hungry Horse. And episode three is how I edit that set and how I tell the story of it. After through selecting the images and episode four is how I find these locations I'm going to shoot at and it's the updated version of it. So yeah, just a lot of good stuff. Let's do it.
