What's Important - Let's Prioritize

What's truly most important in your life and nobody else's to me these are the six most important components that we've been talking about time, creativity, family health, spirituality and self worth money is not that important? Really? Yes, I know so many of you are out there struggling to start this business and pay all the bills that are associated with it, and so many of you out there had dreams of winning this contest the ten thousand dollar grand prize thinking that it will make everything for you it won't it'll help a little bit for the winner, of course and it's wonderful toe win I'm not downplaying that at all when I am down playing is that you don't necessarily need it, okay, ultimately the money is not what's important it's about fulfilling yourself passion, being as authentic to yourself and your life and your family as you can and valuing your time right? Because you only got a finite amount of it on the earth, so prioritize list what's important and set a date for how you...

're going to change it right that dream down and give it to somebody it's one thing to write it down a journal nobody's ever going to read it's another thing to write it in beautiful calligraphy on a piece of gorgeous stationery and hand it to your spouse or significant other and go this is my dream and I've set a date there's nothing like being accountable and used that time you have between now and that date wisely I love this quote michael actually er said it the bad news is time flies the good news is you're the pilot yeah you're the pilot of that time you get to spend it however you want are you letting time spend you were you spending it? What waste your time oh the list is long uh anything else you can think of that just waste time social media distractions email unscheduled meetings, personal phone calls at work not getting stuff done television disorganization, procrastination, miscommunication and george what gains your time planning organization confidence prioritizing disciplines duty just thinking system my station and self awareness by being conscientious of how much time you're spending will help you to spend it wisely. How many days have I logged into facebook and forget an hour later? I'm like oh my god it's two o'clock already we say that every day in our studio I mean this is obviously a goal and not always attainable it's hard bolin and I will be sitting there going over stuff getting stepped down off simon look like holy guacamole it's three o'clock already where did the time go? Oh my gosh, I've been wasting it on facebook I've been doing this I've been playing with email so set on our two aside and clean out your email box unsubscribed toe all that junk crack you get so it's not cluttering things up and every little one you have to click and delete waste a second they add up what's important creativity if the soul's voice so what stifles creativity, social doubt and unsupportive relationships people who think creativity is some god given gift bestowed on a few people no, they don't know what I'm talking about creativity is something anyone and everyone can d'oh it's what we are born to do it's human nature to create okay, but oftentimes we're in unsupportive relationship so we get this social doubt and this raised I mean what if picasso say? Because they said he said a wonderful quote about children losing their sense of creativity because it's stifled in them in school it's crushed in them it's happened to all of us I mean, I remember very well being and being in school and having our teachers look at me and go that sucks least that's what I heard that's a story I was making up in my head okay? Not making time for creativity, not putting aside time your beliefs in yourself so many of you think you're not creative what blows my mind that people don't think they're creative of course you are at my angelou said the more you use it, the more you have it's not something that runs out so the more you use your creativity, the more you're gonna get that's why it blows my mind with like richard sturtevant and tom routes and all these amazing artist whom I look up to a door I used to look like how can they have so many ideas? How could they just keep producing work? Because they keep producing work they produce more and more work so it just makes more more will come it gets filled this well just gets filled and filled the more you use it that's the beauty of creativity so you must make time to be creative for yourself prioritize it. One of the things that stifle creativity is people only see it as an end result it's not a process the result doesn't matter at all it's about doing it you'll have so many junk projects trust me there there's more junk than there is good for everyone good project I do there's probably fifty that just stick it's a fact of creativity life but it's having the courage to just say yes I want to create I am goingto let inspiration in self doubt of course and george are huge when it comes to creativity what squashes your health denial that you're in bad health so many people deny oh I'm just a fat person I'm genetically that way I'll never be skinny I'll never be healthy what no that's you saying that to your head a lack of motivation, motivation, mistrust that you'll ever be a healthy person you know you don't trust that you'll ever be that way having a really negative attitude about your health taking it for granted that you'll always be healthy not the case you have finite body and it's getting old every day one day older starting to break down yeah take care of it what hurts your family not prioritizing them, taking your family for granted that they'll always be there giving up on them miss communication is the number one thing that hurts a family selfishness not giving to them what they deserve no mutual support, no connection not being vulnerable to it and being your authentic self with them that kills family and of course not making time for them so so important and we all get there I mean, I've been there too and there's times when you're not prioritizing your family more than others or you have to travel a lot and you're away from them this happens to me every convention season okay spirituality ignoring your heart, putting things before morals obsession with money kills your spirit focusing on what you get instead of give not focusing on connection and refusing vulnerability and of course george notice a theme george george george self worth you value other opinions over your own and influenced upbringing negative parents who had no self worth themselves chances are you have no self worth either okay doesn't mean it has to stay that way break the cycle don't be that child be the parent you wanted your parents to be social pressure kill self worth facebook kills self worth comparison kills self worth and creativity and joy comparison is shames evil twin so this is what's important in my book time, creativity, family health, spirituality and self worth that's the battle we all face, right? Bouncing it, balancing time with all these other things how many of your mother's few of you this goes for people who are fathers too but I wanted to focus on motherhood because this is something that so many of us struggle with. Okay, we think that in order to be good mothers we have to sacrifice everything for our children. There is this societal belief that there is a black and white issue here. Good mother present mother bad mother absent mother why does it have to be so black and white there's this middle ground that people ignore right and it's a beautiful place. We play life on these major notes when the most beautiful musical scores really are the ones that play on the subtleties of the complex and complexities of flats and shops right? The great musical scores are ones that contain a multitude of notes not just see major, it doesn't have to be black and white. Cheryl straight, who wrote the book wild. You guys know that book? A story of a woman in her twenties who traveled a thousand miles up the pacific crest trail beautiful writer, she says there's this muddled middle place where a whole bunch of truce contradict each other. Ok, you can be absent sometimes and present others you can be a good mother and my mother it's okay to be a bad mother? Not all the time. Sometimes I'm a really crappy mother. You saw my facebook post the last three nights before I came to creative life. My son has been throwing knock down, drag out street fight temper tantrums for a good hour before bedtime. We're talking full blown top of the lungs. Bloody murder. I'm surprised my neighbors didn't call child services and claimed domestic violence types of temper tantrums. You know, the one I'm talking about and I swatted my boy on the but because he was being a little turd. Okay, not listening. Talking back. I don't have to listen to you. Yes, you too. Okay, I mean, there's there's times when you just feel like the junkie ist mother ever he gets so mad we put him in his room he was walking out the room like not stand there I have to keep the door closed I'm like sitting here going mommy I want to talk about me oh I mean crime and the guilt the shame I mean this just like wash through me but all I could say was but he's learning learning he's learning he'll learn he'll learn he needs to learn it was the best I could do I didn't know what else to do but I knew if I just take home it didn't freak out on him and just beat was empathetic and understanding but yet firm that that was going to be my best course of action I could do I don't know what else to do I'm learning this there's no manual for god's sake I wish there was but there's no manual and you just have to try a land error stuff sometimes I was like the tears were streaming down my face as I'm holding the door in my son's going mommy I want to talk about pleasing thought he was way too distraught to talk about it and I knew it so the point is is that at that time I felt like a really junkie mother but I also knew I had to be the best I could be in that moment and had to try to be self aware if you do not let your soul speak its voice, how can you live? What is authentically you? And how can you love someone else authentically? Ifyou're not authentic yourself if you're not following your passions in your dreams and self love and taking care of what you love, how on you're not being authentic. So how on earth can you authentically love your family and your children? If you're not being true to yourself, you will do nothing but resent those you love over time and you'll believe you lost your soul to them. If you're a mother and you're debating staying at home because your children need you and you're denying your passions and your dreams of photography business because your children need you, perhaps you should consider if you're doing them more of a disservice than you think. If you model martin, your children will become martyrs. Are you going to be a martyr and sacrifice your life for them? Sacrifice what you love and what you dream or you going to model creativity, innovation, accomplishment, dreams, goals if you model creativity, your children will become creatives, they will let their soul speak what is authentically them? They will learn to problem solve, they will learn to write down their goals right down a plan, set a date and take action they will learn by she you showing them that discipline and step by step action is what gets you places is what gets you success. So which will you choose for your child? It is the ballots. Okay, sometimes you sometimes family. It goes like this all the time. And that's. What I want you to think about when it comes to being a working parent. Just keep it going like this. Don't ever let it. Okay? Homework number twenty six. They're like you mean we have more homework? Yes. And there's. One more. Coming up in the next segment too. List your goals. What do you dream? Five years from now so I spelt from sorry. Still from long what's realistic to accomplish in five years. Ok, do it with these categories. Money, time, creativity, worth life, family and career and set some deadlines. Okay, prioritize with a list, a plan of action and scheduled days to accomplish that. This is a big project. I know it's going to take a year. Just note that will take a while. Dreams written down with a date. Our goals goal's written with a plan and follow through with action will make your dreams come true.

I look at this course as a library of amazing and valuable content. Everything that any photographer ever needs to run their business and make it successful and profitable can find all in one place, this course. I always felt inspired by Julia's amazing business skills, she is one of the best in this industry. I have taken all of her previous classes before and never felt disappointed. Instead, I would feel more confident, educated, empowered and inspired. Every segment is packed with so much information and it feels overwhelming at first, but the workbook that this course comes with, gives you sanity and helps you to work through it. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone. You should decide if you want to spend 10 years to get all this knowledge that this course already has, or just spend $199 to get it all at once and not waste anymore time experimenting!? Your choice.

We're only 1wk into this 5wk bootcamp and I have already gained so much valuable information {already worth every cent}. Julia shares so much about how to run a business, and do it in a way that's successful, profitable and enjoyable. Have already started working on a few new systems to help run my business better, and my customer service has already improved. Now to just spruce up my home studio to make it more visually appealing and comfortable for my clients :) Thank you so much Julia!

I am so incredibly happy to have taken the plunge this evening, as I bought this course! Today watching the course a lightbulb went off and I knew I had to have it! This is worth every cent, and I am so very excited to watch the rest and implement these teachings into my business. Its time to take charge and take my business back! I am so amazed after standing back and looking at my business from a distance, of how much i have been giving away. Not only of not only my pricing but myself. I have compromised for clients that aren't right for me. This is giving me the confidence and knowledge to say no, in a nice way, and to focus on the business I really WANT! Thank you Julia, you are an inspiration! An amazing women with impeccable business sense!
