Webinar Q&A with James Wedmore
Anna says, what about four direct sellers multi level marketing who are selling a product that costs about four thousand dollars? Should we do a webinar so that they're more informed on it before they buy? Because they might not necessarily that's a great question? Obviously, if you are in direct sales, you need to make sure you're getting approval from whatever you know, whoever is creating a product first, because I don't know if there's rules and restrictions. I know what some companies there are it's like, no, you can create your own website with this and all that that's the first step, and I don't I don't know the specifics on that, but yes, if you were selling like a four thousand dollar physical product, a webinar is a fantastic way to do it, because to me, a four thousand dollar product that's like a water purifier you, you guys are gonna start laughing if I'm trying to sell you a four thousand dollar water purifier, right? Because you can get a brutal one for like thirty box a...
t, you know walgreens, but the reason we're laughing is because you haven't been educated yet even been informed as to why you should pay for thousand dollars if I told you that you're slowly dying and is taking ten years off your life just because of the water that we're drinking you might start going well. Four thousand dollars toe live ten years longer isn't really that much money, so you're educating them through that webinar and that's really important. So I can only imagine in a four thousand dollar problem like that does need some education and that's what weapon or does one more hello? I would love for james to address the shady nature of webinars that they're just hard sells disguised as offering actual, valuable and actionable content. I hear webinar and think no, thanks, I don't want to waste on our yeah so that's why I said, get rid of the word webinar but here's here's the secret you gotta make a decision. I said this on the panel on day one uh, you know, the internet does bring some slimy people toe to the surface, but they don't have staying power and for me, I've always looked at my business as I am the the tortoise, not the hair and the version I read. Uh, the tortoise won the race and so I'm in it for the long haul. I have a very, you know, long picture strategy, and so it is very possible and easy to do a one and done sleazy. Slimy webinar where all it is is a disguise sales pitch where you always promise you're going to get to a content but never do and then put a super high price tag on but that's not sustainable and you can't do that more in a few times you people get teo catch on way all know that it's so far easier to sell to past customers than it is to acquire new ones and when you are building a relationship with an audience that knows that you're webinars are things not to be missed people keep showing up and then keep investing in you and this is why it goes back to what I said at the beginning and what we've been talking about for three days where when you provide value first uh things work they work so for the long haul so there's a yeah that's a great question I'm tellin divine may we please have some options for local business owners who offer a service? Wedding planners and event designers offer service but how can we benefit from webinars and I think that they can but you're the expert um they can um and I'm trying to, like choose a specific business and how I would approach that I mean honestly like there's different ways in which you could, which you could do this and get really creative where let's say I'm a wedding planner and the first thing I would do if you're going to make the decision to dio webinars and your wedding planner local businesswoman like that you wantto raise your prices because whatthe webinar will do will allow you to differentiate yourself from everyone else in your area, because until now, people it has been priced shopping. But if you can somehow get maybe it's on an individual basis like a mini thirty minute presentation where you're educating your client on the pitfalls of choosing the wrong person for your wedding, of how to, how to find the right person, what it means to have a successful wedding and paint the picture of what their experience will be when they have the right person, all that information that value there are there already they're sitting down there watching this video, this person knows their stuff that really smart, I don't want to look at anybody else, and then and then you can go on to say here's, our packages, here's what we offer, but I don't necessarily for that since it's, a local business owner, and like, like the wedding planner. So a lot of these strategies you might need to tweak if you're different business, but I wouldn't like every week beyonce owes me, like having wedding this week here come watch my free webinar because that's it's a very timely, different business and I was in the wedding industry is well where we provided bartenders and serve servers and cocktail waitresses and stuff to weddings and so people usually most people have only one wedding and they have it on a specific date and so that's more about them coming to you so if someone comes to you when you're like yes we'd like to give you a free presentation whether you choose to hire me or not we like to give you a free thirty minute presentation on educating you on how you can have the best wedding possible whether you hire me or not we just want to give you this presentation well that's kind of nice thank you it's only free sign up here so you know people do this when people are consulting they come to someone's office and they'd give a presentation about what they could do for them in their company and then they make their offer and they get the sale or not it's the same exact concept so hopefully that clarifies with that you are serious ass do you think including a live chat with a webinar is a good thing and if so how does all that work? I do love to have a two way communication functionality with all my webinars so we get people engaged we get I questions I let them ask questions we have a two way chat going on right here I don't like chat rooms as much and creative life has done a great job to organize this but when people can shot with each other they get really distracted they start talking about completely off topic things like the pants that james is wearing uh instead of listening which is totally fine like I don't mind that but for me like I'm like all right you know, pay attention class kids um you know, if he was in a live classroom you wouldn't want people talking to each other you'd want them talking with the instructor well that this has all been so useful and everybody in the chat rooms has been extremely grateful for it so thank you very much on and let's go ahead and bring devon back on and so how did not be sleazy make sure your content you could totally leave off the product offer this sixty minute content make sure you could done offer anything at the end and it's so good that you would get emails afterwards going I want to learn more how can I how can I continue this education that's how good the sixty minutes needs to be is that you could do it with no product so you're giving you're doing them a favor by actually offering something something at the end that's how good this content should be is that you could just cut it off there and people like wow that's amazing with that uh example for photographers people you have an expertise already you know how to take better pictures so let's say you do family studio sessions so people can remember their kids at a certain age and you know you haven't education, you know howto light you know how to take align the camera properly. What do all parents want to dio even outside of the studio session? They want to know how to they take pictures of their kids and they want to take better pictures of their kids. Amy talked about facebook as the other day she talked about targeting, but only targeting facebook pages targeting can go way deeper you khun target your zip code, your city I mean so deep you can target people that are recently engaged if your wedding photographer and then you could dio a session like james talked about this for business owners that have an expertise that we'll learn how to teach something they could be teaching how to be taking better pictures of your kids now because of how to hold the camera where the sun needs to be all sorts of things, I'm sure photographers look at it there facebook news feed and go that photo of my friend's kid could have been better because of this element or this element of the silly because that's what they're trained it that they have that eye for it and parents want to take better pictures of their kids. So and then at the end you can go into and we have these services, or or just position, even if there was no pitch on that life webinar and itjust educated them who's going to be an expert in their area who they go, too, because they did them the favor of teaching you how to take better pictures of their kids. Same thing with the commerce. Uh exactly what we did. Learn how to run a successful online business through practice and, uh, then, eventual success with custom grief threads and luxury monograms people asked, how the heck did they do that? Gina, you ran a pallotti studio? How are you running successful business? Start packaging advice for people to do that as a business owner, you should always have multiple streams of income, and if you have run a successful business and turn a profit, you are way ahead of people out there. There is more than just gina running a pla t studio there's other pla t studio owners that want to learn that haven't reached your level success yet. They haven't learned how to turn a profit yet another direction I could have gone customary threads is essentially a glorified embroidery shop. We happen to be very niche and selling greek customized greek apparel. So very specific market there's. A lot of embroidery shop owners out there. And if I ran a successful unprofitable embroidery shop, I could package and expertise. Hi, dwight, quote. How to write a professional quote. I could give them templates for running professional quotes out how to run an effective sales team and turn your customer service. People toe close the sale, certain things that I have this knowledge in, because I was able to turn a profit and have an advantage in, you know, I'm better than I've ever been able to accomplish something that majority of business owners in america cannot get to that point and end of folding.
