A co-worker recently asked for a favor and you agreed but he started to ask for more favors more frequently and it feels like he's actually delegating his workload to you. He's not your supervisor and the tasks he's asking you to do are definitely his responsibility. You don't want to seem rude or like you're not a team player but you don't want to keep doing his work for him. How do you say no? Here's what you may be thinking and what not to say. That's not my job, do your own job, why won't he leave me alone? Here's a solution. When it comes to doing favors, you must delineate the boundaries of what you are and aren't willing to do. In this situation it may help to find out why he's not doing his own work. Maybe you can even help him solve the underlying problem. Without being malicious, some people instinctively take advantage of those who allow it. Here's what you could say: I'm happy to help...
