Practice and Review

we have covered a lot of material and you might be feeling overwhelmed. So I want to take a moment to review and help you organize yourself for success in these lessons. We've covered the voiceover performance. What makes a good voice over performance and then we broke down many individual skills that you can separate out into practice sessions. The # one rule to remember is always speak to one person. If you always speak to one person, everyone will think they are that one person and will make your reads really stand out, then we covered your studio, you can get started and record some great voice over with a mic, a computer and a dead space like your walk in closet. We covered higher end equipment as well so that you can align your initial setup with those studios in mind or even have them as goals for the future. Now what do we do with all of this information? Most importantly is to be regular with your practice sessions. Do not practice for seven hours one day a week. It's much bet...

ter to do smaller sessions on a regular basis if you only have five hours a week, then practice one hour a day, five days a week, But stick to that one hour, Having a regular schedule set aside for your voice over business and staying regular is going to help you accomplish so much more in six months. We want to build the skills over time. Not overnight. For example, when I started voice over, I had two hours a day to dedicate to building this new skill. So a two hour session for me would look something like this, 10 minutes to warm up and try some tongue twisters, 50 minutes to practice my performance and my reads. Then I'd take a 10 minute break, 25 minutes watching YouTube tutorials in 25 minutes, mimicking other people's demos when you break down the time and stick to it. The results will follow. If you focus on the results rather than the process, you'll get burned out and impatient. This is a new skill and reading out loud is not always easy. So think of the long term game of building a new skill and enjoy your practice sessions over time, you'll gain excitement from seeing your new skills grow small steps each day equals massive results over time. As for my first studio, which was my walk in closet, I built that one weekend rather than using practice time, but if you don't have that kind of time, then work the studio build into your schedule as well. I encourage you now to go set up a voiceover gig on Fiverr if you're stuck and don't know where to start. Take a look at other voiceover gigs and I look forward to seeing you succeed
