Introducing Finn Beales
I chose kick thing off with Finn Beales for a couple of reasons. I mean, he's just a natural at telling stories with photography. He has traveled all over the world, shooting for the worlds most demanding brands, in the craziest places. From shooting volcanic eruptions in the South Pacific to documenting the ice drip melt in North Atlantic. I mean the guys a beast, but what I feel is the most important part of his work is his ability to tell stories and photograph comfortably from the other side of the world. And also being really at ease back at home, just in his backyard making photo with his family. We've spent the better part of the summer making this workshop. And breaking down Finn's process step by step, and it's a painful thing. With the sole purpose of making you a better storyteller. In our workshop you will learn a bunch of things. You started with the foundation of a story, how to use desire in your work, how to give a sense of place, sensory shot types. How to price your w...
ork, it's very important nowadays. And some bonus interviews with Finn and myself, about the current state of photography. How to use, how to make the most of Instagram in 2018. He has been a travel, a live-stop commercial photographer for the last 10 years, 10 years is a long time, and what makes his work unique, I think, is the fact that at the center of it is a deep sense of story. Fantastic My thoughts on the storytelling workshop. The short is; it’s fantastic. The long is I loved all the details covered, from shot types and the ideas behind them to the call sheets and shot lists, and the whole process. I felt like I had a better understanding of how to schedule a professional shoot and I really felt like I had a much better grasp on many ideas and concepts, and I believe I’ve been able to improve my photography with them, so thank you and Finn. It really is fantastic.

A path to better stories Very happy I got this workshop. Finn and Alex do a great job at teaching highly useful methods and specific advice to help you improve your own work, and more importantly, tell better stories that are meaningful to you.
