Lesson Info
Mocking Up
So I could easily add the three designs I've chosen to the pitch deck and call it a day, but I want the client to have a good idea of what this brand mark would look like in real life usage. A good mock up or two can really round out your pitch to the client and can be a deciding factor for whether one design is picked over another. I provided a couple of mock ups here for download that I created using royalty free images from a splash. Let's open one of these mock ups up and add one of the brand marks. I'm gonna choose this molotov cocktail because I think it's kind of fun. Okay, so once you have this open in Photoshop, I've laid out the mock up here, just like most mock ups are laid out. So you have this little artwork later here. So I just want you to double click on that. Go grab your mark from W illustrator and then you want to pull that back in by hidden paste. I am going to enlarge this sky and then I'm just going to hit close on that and hit save and now we've got the mark and ...
its typography mocked up on this cute little markup. So I want you to save that as a jpeg just as the best practices since we're throwing all this stuff and doing in design file later on, we want to make sure that we're keeping these file sizes low. I'm gonna make sure that I recognize that one is the market that it is going to hit save. So I provided to other mock ups here that you can use. Um I would recommend not using more than three at this point in the design process because the more things you show to the client at this point, they're gonna want to see that later on. So if there's more stuff that you need to design in this identity, you want to make sure that you're not sort of promising something that you can't deliver on later on.
