Symbols helps society function in a quick and effortless way When they tell hundreds of millions of drivers every day to go one direction or another, symbols, help unite nations with patriotism and bring communities together around a common issue with flags. Religious symbols allow people to express a connection with the divine with sign language symbols help people speak where they otherwise wouldn't be able to. The study of symbols and signs is called semiotics. And the deeper you dive into this topic, the more you learn that these little images carry a lot of weight in society more than just providing information. Symbols have a deep effect on how we think and feel, and they can often be interpreted more easily and universally than words.
