But for now, let's just set up this loop, drag this to the right size and then I'm going to go into the synthesizer and change some things around here. First of all, we're going to change it from poly to Legato and let's hear what this sounds like. See if we can hear the difference, change it to mono. I think I prefer mono the best because each note can be heard a lot sharp and a lot cleaner than Legato and Polly. OK. Now we're going to change some of the effects in the ES two. You can see here, we have three different oscillators. So these produce three different sounds. We can change the ways for each one of these and we can also change the octaves. So I'm just gonna change some of the octaves around now just to try and get a bigger fuller sound for this melody. We, we can also change some of the macros down here which will quickly just change some of these sounds. I'm just gonna add some effects and distortion and then move some of the macros around. n down the filter So it cuts out a lot of the highs and also change some of the attack and sustain. Also, I detuned it slightly. So it sounds slightly out of tune, which I think works as a great effect. So let's just have a listen to this now. Ok, great. So this is how we can write a melody. One thing we need to be careful of is our project pins. I'm just gonna turn a few things down cos we don't really want our project to peak because it can distort and ruin the sound. Ok. That's better. Now, we can make a quick arrangement. So we don't want the melody playing all the time. We do want it every now and again. OK. So next, we're actually going to look at adapting our melody to new chords because we have the second section here where the chords are a little bit unusual and they actually go out of key.
