Let's get into the focusing area on this. Focusing is always tricky and sometimes complicated on this camera, and it's fairly easy to dive into the basics of this by just hitting the arrow pad at almost any time. The camera is in a shooting mode and you're gonna dive into the focusing system. So we have a number of different options on how you can focus. So you're gonna be using the arrow pad in order to focus, and you will be using the okay button as well to select your certain areas. Now the kind of unusual thing is that you need to hit the info button to change your settings on this. And then you're going to make a selection by going up and down to choose one of the four different options small point standard point all points or a group of nine points, and then you will go side to side. If you want to select the happy face. Whether you are looking at face detection, this is what it is. It's face detection. You can turn it on, you can turn it off. You can focus on the eyes. You can f...

ocus on the right eye or the left eye because it can actually determine the difference between these. And so while this slide shows you how to do it, let me show you how to do it in the real world here. So let's take a look at the back of our camera, and we want to change the focusing points. So what do we do? Well, we press the aero pad, weaken, go up, We can go down, we go left, go right it doesn't matter. And right now I have a single point. And if you remember from before, if I go all the way over to the edge, it switches between one and all of them. But if I really want to have more control, you'll notice down here in the bottom left, it says info. So if I had the info button, let's try this again. I think it was a little slow. Hit the info button again. There's a little tiny indicator down here that indicates if I go up and down, I will change between my single point, my single larger point all points and then a group point and seeing how I got this off to the side. Let me move this over mortar. It's the middle, so where we can see it. So I hit the info button and I go up and down to change the four different cycles of points. Now, which one do I use in which one do I like? I typically use the standard focusing point, which is the slightly larger one. It seems to be about the right size. The small one is a little too small, and you really gotta have a position spot on to get it right. If I was going to be focusing maybe through a chain link fence, I might use that s so that it didn't catch the fence. But let me get back to my mode here. And I generally don't use all of them unless I was maybe focusing on something that would really filled up the frame. Maybe sports photography. If I am shooting action, that is one where I would prefer toe have all nine points. I think that's a really nice one. Now you notice just above this is the little happy face. And if you go from side to side, let me go back down to Standard point, and am I getting that? It's not. I've got something turned off, and so it is turned off right now, and I think I have it turned off in the menu system right now is the problem. But normally you would be able to just press the buttons to go side to side in order to change the face detection on that. So I'm not a big fan of the face detection because you just don't have as much control over which face it's going to, especially if you're photographing multiple people who are at different distances, which happens in a lot of casual and fun situations. And so I prefer to just choose a focusing point, and so that is how you choose that focusing point.
