Who Is Your Audience And How To Define It

So who is your audience? And how do we define? That is probably one of the most first and fundamental steps that you want to take before you even open a facebook group, One of the biggest mistakes I see when people try to first build an online community, it's just trying to appeal to everyone and not having an idea of who their target audience is. Keep in mind that a real and engaging community is usually built around a specific topic, interest or product or brand. So you have to define that first, who your audience is going to be, and it needs to be specific. You want to go over quality, over quantity and understanding who you want to target and who you want to let in is going to make a huge difference in building those meaningful relationships in the first stages of your facebook group. So how do you define an audience? And we're going to go through a couple of exercises and things are going to help you understand and answer questions to define and understand better, who you should t...

arget at first. I usually go through five questions to find my audience and these are the five questions that will help you understand who your target market should be and when I talk about who I'm talking about an audience in terms of age, gender, location, lifestyle, think of demographics, what motivates them, what are their interests, fears, goals, desires and frustrations as well. The what element of your audience will help you define the topics that content should cover? What is those post? What are those questions that you will be asking to engage with them? It's gonna help you also understand the format of the content that will work best. When do they consume this type of content? When do they need it? When are the best times to publish the content to them? And and also push that content out where they hang out, Where do they find similar solutions? What are their channels? Can you find your audience to invite them to your community? What other communities should you be joining to better understand? You know, the questions that they ask, how they interact within those communities and what are the most important things that they're looking for? Why would they be interested in joining a community and especially your community? What's gonna be that catch for them to say, I have to join this community. So I really recommend that you take the time and answer all of these questions before you even open your facebook groups going through this exercise is fundamental because it's going to help you in the next chapters. It'll help you define the name of your group, the name of your community, what type of content you're going to be publishing the descriptions, the call to actions and the rules of engaging that you're going to set the Foundation for your community. So take the time to go through this exercise and definitely understand who do you want to target? Who's gonna be your audience so that you can build a better, healthier and more engaging community as you move along this course.
