Workshop Welcome
(wind whoosing) (calm music) (laughing) Hey, y'all Theron and Matty here. Thank you so much for buying our workshop and supporting us. And the gift that we want to give to you is sharing our story about how we've taken personal projects and turned those into commercial work and shooting for brands and clients that we love to create for. And in this workshop, I'm gonna walk you through my process and my thoughts about how I've created my personal work. And then also how that's led into commercial projects and how I use a similar workflow for creating great images for clients. The thing that I hope that you get from this is that you understand and embrace that photography, for it to be successful, has to come from a place from the heart of a project that you love and you really care about. That it takes hard work. That it is this wonderful combination of craft, and science, and ideas. And that it does take dedication and love to make wonderful images, but it's all worth it. So this wor...
kshop is focused on personal projects and the reason why we create large bodies of work, it's an opportunity to express to the world how you see things and that lets you hone your style, which is ultimately something that art directors and brands are gonna see in your own portfolio and wanna bring you in to shoot that for the stories that they're trying to tell. Yeah, I can't wait to show y'all how I create and how I worked, and hopefully you'll find something important and valuable in this that you can take into your own process of creating. And thanks for the opportunity to let me show you into a tiny little bit of our life.

A really enjoyable course! I really enjoyed getting an inside look at Theron's philosophy and approach to his photography work. I picked up so many good points to help me better define the work that I do and the direction I want to go with it. I did have to go back and watch a few things because Maddie was so happily distracting. I found myself watching her and missed what he said. Ha! I felt like this course was true to how it was advertised - approach and tips for getting commercial work. Next, I'd love to see a little more technical course from Theron that shares his how and why for gear, light capture, and angles for the outdoor shoots like those shared in this course. I'm really inspired by the simplicity of his production.
