To complete the full cycle within the smartphone. As a photography device is social media. This is where I think a lot of us will ultimately be posting our photos is to share it with the world. Uh What I think is so great about this is that with this one device, we are able to go out take an amazing photo, we're able to edit an app and then we're able to post it onto whatever platform it is that you use, whether that's Instagram, uh Facebook, Twitter, whatever it might be. Um There are always new ones coming up and I just think it's an amazing tool that it all fits within one device that you can do all this with. Now, it's important when taking photos and we've shared sort of the creative aspects and the technical aspects how to edit these photos, how to use them even out in the field. But ultimately, if you're using this device to build maybe a following on Instagram, um or maybe you're just using it to share moments from your life with family and friends. t as sort of the end goal. Now it's not to say that you're only going to use these photos for social media. But if it is part of what you're doing, it's good to, you know, sometimes I take photos, edit them and sort of save them for later and, you know, it's called Instagram but a lot of times I do later grams where I've taken a photo and I posted a few days later, a few weeks later. And it's nice because I can create folders on my phone and you know, store them for later. And this is a great way that you know, the phone is used for social media. And a lot of people create entire businesses now um by using their smartphones because they're able to, you know, take all those photos, store them, log them, use different apps and then present them to the world on their social media feed. Another thing to consider with Instagram is that you can post on your story, which is going to be a vertical frame, you can then post onto your actual feed, which is vertical or horizontal or square um or you can create galleries where you have multiple photos on there as well. So that's sort of uh the presentation of how you want to bring these photos into the world alongside that is adding hashtags and captions that sort of add a story or add something to the image you're seeing, whether it's satirical or it's serious or it's, you know, something light just to share with friends. That's another aspect to photography is, you know, how you present it um, with, you know, actual words and actual context. And really when it comes to this, you know, the ease of having it with your phone, you don't need to, you know, it's not complicated process. It's all right there. It's what makes it really nice for social media. And I do think a good thing to keep in your mind is, you know, is this for friends and family because there's a lot of just great personal moments you want to share with people or are you trying to create a business? Are you trying to create a very specific style? Because one is a little bit more loose and just fun and, you know, you don't have to think too much of making the most amazing images. And then the other is really trying to find your style and create a look that's gonna fit within your brand. And maybe those two come together, maybe they don't, but it's all possible because of this one device. And I think that's what's so amazing about um smartphone, photography and social media. They're just the two of sort of risen together to be this amazing um sort of full ecosystem.

Definitely geared to beginners, but the class has a lot of good information. As an advanced camera photographer still trying to get to know my phone camera better, I learned a few things I didn't know (like you can use portrait mode for selfies, what hyper lapse is and the VSCO app). Nice job!

Good course for everyone starting out and needed to have some more basic info beyond the common snap shot. I had wished for more info on using mobile in the more professional field like when switching from camera to mobile. Additional lenses and flashes and things like that. But this course was obviously not targeted at this. So overall still a nice brush up.
