There are many apps for your phone that have to do with photography, editing. Uh For example, there is light room. Now, lightroom is one of my favorite ones because I in my normal photography career, use lightroom and Photoshop on my laptop. And my desktop lightroom mobile will actually, if you're subscribed to their business, uh will bring in your photos and you can actually share your photos across all your devices, which is cool. Uh It's helpful for photographers for professional photographers who need to edit on the go or uh if you wanna share devices, the cool thing about the phone one is that uh it's very powerful for your phone. And I think it's actually probably the most powerful editing app on the phone and it's what I would recommend if you're getting serious about it. So let's go into light room on the phone and you can see here this is my normal light room library we're gonna add by clicking in the bottom right from our camera roll. Now, these are all the photos that are on...

my camera that I've taken with my phone and let's go find a photo that we've been working on uh earlier, like one of our peer photos let's go with uh let's go with this one. So we'll tap it and it's automatically dumped right into light room, right. So now I have all the tools here on lightroom. Now, there's so many things you can do uh in light room. So I can't go through everything. But some of my favorite things uh for example, are being able to basically do all the same things that you would necessarily do inside that your phone itself, like uh ex auto exposure like that, we can go back as an undue setting. You can actually go in and now you can see things I like the way it's laid out. It's laid out to me a little bit more easy, you can see everything in front of you versus going and hunting for something. Um And it has sliders with, with numbers which I think are really fun. Um And it really, you know, it's really pretty self explanatory. It's got all the same things that the other phone does something really cool. Now is the curve right now. If you're used to lightroom or you're used to Photoshop, you're able to select precisely your, your highlights and your and your uh shadows and create your own curve as you see fit. If you're used to that, that's a very powerful editing tool for uh professionals if you're used to doing that and you can kind of select colors, uh R GB, um pretty much anything you can do in lightroom, lightroom on your desktop you can do right here, which is very cool. And I think that's kind of what sets it apart from the other uh editing apps. Um Another thing, it also has more, more, I don't know, detailed things like de haze. Uh you can actually add grain which is kind of cool. Uh If you're looking for that style, it does have noise reduction, which I actually feel like is a little bit better than the in camera noise reduction. Um Again, you can do the sharpening as usual. Um You can do color noise reduction, which is just based on the colors. Um You can add a distortion which you can't really do in other in camera photo apps. Um You know, and that's pretty cool if you wanted to get into sort of funky fun stuff like that or if you're creating some other sort of content for, for something I can always back out of here. Um It also has, you know, just the normal color filters that you can use. Um all pretty cool stuff that is incredibly powerful as far as you know, uh editing in your phone. Um So if you were gonna go with an editing app and you didn't know which one to go with, I would say uh lightroom is the way to go one really cool aspect of lightroom that I've used. Uh pretty quickly in the past is this healing tool? It's kind of a or stamp, you can kind of clone things out by just clicking there and you see how it just can disappear, just disappears just like that. I mean, you get finessing at it and takes practice. But yeah, you have the ability to basically um ll clone things out quickly if, if you need to, um, pretty easily. There you go. Look at that boom gone. Not my best work, but you can see how fast and how easy it is to do that in lightroom, which I think is just something like really beneficial. Look at that person's gone. Um Let's do one more. We can add a bag. Now there's two bags, so light room's really powerful. It's got all these really fun uh fun tools that you can use to really amplify your editing. Um And I, I would highly recommend if you're starting to get into this kind of stuff to really look into light room and see if that's for you.

Definitely geared to beginners, but the class has a lot of good information. As an advanced camera photographer still trying to get to know my phone camera better, I learned a few things I didn't know (like you can use portrait mode for selfies, what hyper lapse is and the VSCO app). Nice job!

Good course for everyone starting out and needed to have some more basic info beyond the common snap shot. I had wished for more info on using mobile in the more professional field like when switching from camera to mobile. Additional lenses and flashes and things like that. But this course was obviously not targeted at this. So overall still a nice brush up.
