Quick Color Correction With Layer Masks
The technique is very simple when you're working with this, right, so we've used it for dodging, and we've used it for burning. But then you can also do different types of coloring. You can amplify color. You can change color. Let's say, for example, I want to grab this color and I don't want the color the red color to be so saturated When I'm working with it, I can come over here into the black and white cookie and create a layer adjustment on the layer adjustment that I want to do here is going to be a human saturation. And grab that. And inside of this, there's a poll bunch of different sliders, right? Like if you want to be able to take the hues of a specific color range, you can move them over the saturation of a color range. Or if you want to be able to work with just the blues oven image, you can grab that or the magenta as, but you can grab them agendas and turn them agendas into this one slide like I don't know about you guys, but this confuses the snot out of me like I don't ...

Like I don't know how to be able to change the color one way or another. So this is my favorite tool on husa. You notice it, it automatically samples reds, and it takes all of the reds in the image and either over saturates thumb or under saturates the over saturates thumb and under saturates the Now I'm gonna do and undo there. When I use that same finger and clicking on that red. If I hold down the command key or control key on the PC, you can click and it changes those reds as well. So now I can take that and I'm gonna make it a little bit more orange and if I let it go and click on it again, it's a little bit more de saturated. So rather than guessing what slider it is that you're working with, just grab it visually. Evening, You're done. Now. We ran into a problem with this, right when we did this. The problem that we ran into here is that when we did that saturation adjustment, what happened that had just saturate the hat and saturated the whole thing Rain. So what do we want to dio? We just wanted a hat. We mask it. Right? So, like in the studio audience, you have people going ask, So we'll keep a shortcut. Do you remember the keyboard shortcut? Teoh Invert. I write command. I I well, being from here, I can grab a brush. What color do we use to be able to reveal portions of it? Wait. Rain. So inside of here I can paint. And now I can de saturate. That happened just a little bit. And that's it. It's rinse and repeat, rinse. Repeat, rinse. Repeat its grab something making effect in birth. Damask painter Back with a brush, grab something making effect. Invert paint with a brush so we tend to overcomplicate like Oh my God, like retouching and re processing most of the stuff and getting that It's the same thing over and over and over. Good. So far now from here, I'll do, Let's say one more. So we're gonna click right here. And what I want to be able to do is I want to be able to do a photo filter. I'm a big fan of photo filters when we work with something. The perfect example of the photo filter would be something like if you shoot on a sunny day, but a portion of stuff is in shadow, right? Every time that you shoot on a sunny day with a portion of something that's in shadow, what happens? It looks blue. Anything. The shadows with blue. You can add a photo filter to it and then bring that back in, or you can de saturate it and then bring that back in so it could be something to be kind of cool. So now if I wanted to warm something up, I can use a warming filter, invert that mask and then come back in and adjusted. If I want to pull some of that color off because there is a little bit of a cast of color on the sidewalk. I can go to Hue saturation grabbed my finger. The I don't know what this color is. Tool. Pull all the reds down. It looks terrible, brain. But what I'm gonna do inver, right. I always tell really what I'm doing this on, like in stages and things like that. I was tell people, Mike, it's a really bad joke, right? Like, how do you catch a unique rabbit? Thank you unique up on him and catch him. Thats just do Or how do you catch a team? Or how do you catch a tame rabbit team way? It's It's terrible. It's a terrible joke. I know it's a terrible drug I'm going into. The gigantic joke sucks, but I tell people all the time tame way like any adjustment that you do. How do you do that? How do better to tame way make the adjustment? Invert the mask. Put in a soft white brush painted back in Oh, how do you Babel changing color a way. Grab this. Invert this mask, Turn it over. Painted back in with a brush adjusted later. So exact concept over and over and over. So here's my human saturation. Its on this brush. And now from here I can go ahead and come back over here. I can paint all of this color out Now. Watch this. You Congrats. This layer from here and there we are before Oh, you don't have to click on every one of them. You could just click and drag. So there's before after. I really don't like this photo filter here, grab it goes in the trash.

It is a pleasure to watch him, and he manages somehow to keep your attention from the start to the finish without realizing the passing of time, He explains the do's and don'ts with Layer Masks, how to use each of them and when, I just simply loved the instructor and the class. He is one of my favorite instructor from Photoshop Week 2018, and if I could not buy all the bundle, but I would buy some classes, his are definitely chosen.
