Then click and drag inside the art board to create a text area and feel free to post the video and take your time to type your own text. When done, it's time to style the text to do so, double click on the first paragraph to select it. Head to the character options inside the properties panel and click on the down pointing arrow to open the fund list for this document. I will use a fund family named Meet walk and set its weight too bold, Then set the size to 30 points And then the leading, which is the space between each line to 35 points. Once you're happy with the styling head to the top menu, choose window, then type and paragraph style. The paragraph and Character Styles panels will pop up from here. You can save the text formatting you just created into a paragraph style to do so click on the little plus icon located at the bottom of the panel, Then double click on the new paragraph and the paragraph option window will come up, label your paragraph style appropriately to set a hierarchy rule and to make your styles easy to recognize. Of course the name of your progress style will variety depending on the content and the project that you're working with. I will name this paragraph style heading, click on the carter color tab and choose a color from the list. I will change the color of the text to light brown. To organize your content groups by proximity or distance. It's important to set a consistent space between paragraphs. To do so, select the indents and spacing tab and set the space after 265 points space after will add a gap to create a distance between paragraphs. Click on. Ok to commit to the changes and let's tell the remaining text with a different format for the main body copy. I will suggest a fund that is easy to read. Select the text, then head to the properties panel from the front family. I was set to active grotesques In a light style and 11 point size illustrator allows you to create multiple paragraph styles per each of your documents. So simply repeat the same process as we did for the heading formatting to create a new paragraph style. When done if you wish to make parts of the text stand out or you want to base a new style on the formatting of an existing one. The best way to create and save overrides is to create a character style. Character styles will allow you to change only some attributes such as the fund family size and they will preserve all the other format. Things. Now select the text and then head to the character styles panel and click on the little plus icon at the bottom of the character styles panel to create a new style formatting, name, your style and then said the formatting to your preference. In this case I will change the weight to regular And set the size to 16 points. Remember to activate the preview to see the changes previewed live in your document when done, click on. Ok now you can use the paragraph and character styles you have created to quickly format the rest of the text in a few clicks. Before moving forward, let's prepare our filed by organizing the content. The best way to do so is to use the layers panel if you cannot see the layers panel in your workspace, head to the window menu and select layers. Yeah, the layers panel will help you to list, organize and edit the objects in a document. Every new document contains at least one layer. Now. Double click on the layers. Name to rename it. Since the layer contains the text, I will name it text. Then click on the small plus icon located at the bottom of the panel to create a new layer. A new layer will appear in the panel. Double click on it to rename it. I will call this layer background. This is the layer in which we will place the background image before bringing in the image. Let's get to the libraries panel and click on the plus icon to create a new dedicated library for this project. Now name your library. You can download and use the image provided to follow along or feel free to use any image of your choice. Now locate and open the folder which contains the image in your computer. Select the image and drag it inside the library. Head to the layers panel and select the background layer. Then select the image from the library and bring it over the our board, click once and drug to place it as you can see the layers stuck in order matters. Graphics on a layer above will display in front of the elements contains in the layers below to reveal the text layer. Select and drag the background layer at the bottom of the layer stock. This image reflects the perfect example of a real world workflow in which you have to work with a graphic that isn't enough space to place your text. Let me show you how to fix that. Let's get back to the libraries panel and then select the image and right click on it. Then choose edit illustrator will automatically launch Photoshop and open the image inside a new Photoshop document so we can take full advantage of working with two of the most powerful creative cloud apps together to select and then remove unwanted areas in your image. Start by pressing the letter M. On your keyboard to access the marquee tool, then click and drag over the element you wish to remove, then right click within the selection and choose content aware, fill the content aware, fill workspace will open up here. Use the sampling brush tool to paint in the document window and refine sampling areas to replace the pixels inside your selection. You can increase or decrease the sampling brush size using the left or right bracket keys and to toggle between add and subtract modes simply hold down the old key on windows. That option on a Mac by doing so you can very quickly achieve amazing results as you find two in sampling areas. The preview panel will constantly render a full resolution preview of the changes when you're happy with the result from the output setting, select current layer to apply the edits to the same layer and if you want to work non destructively you can opt for a new layer to apply the edits and close the content our field workspace click. Ok. Now simply select the layer and drag it inside your current library located inside the libraries panel. Head back to the illustrator file, delete the old image and bring in the editor one again, simply click on it and then head over to the R. Word and click and drag to place it. Make sure to save your file using the shortcut control as on a window. That's command as on a MAC. All is left to do is to export the file as a pdf and send it to print. To do so use the shortcut shift control as on windows that shift command as on a Mac. Then select your destination folder from the dialog box and choose adobe pdf from the former. Drop down when done, click on save from the save adobe pdf window, Head to the adobe pdf presets and select high quality print, then click on the marks and bleeds tab and select use the document bleed settings if you wish or requested by your printer here. You can also activate the tree marks, click on save pdf. Eh pdf format will capture all the elements of a document as an electronic image that you can view forward, imprint and you're done.
