ABOUT THIS EPISODE:

In this episode, Lynsey describes the challenges of photographing her recent stories about the impact of Covid-19 on assignment for the New York Times and National Geographic. Lynsey shares what she learned about herself creating her latest book “Of Love and War” and why she’s been drawn to cover injustices with several long-term projects. Hear about the influence of her family’s work ethic, from being a child of two hairdressers to her 107-year old Italian grandmother.

ABOUT LYNSEY:

Lynsey Addario is an American photojournalist who has been covering conflict and humanitarian crises around the Middle East and Africa on assignment for The New York Times, National Geographic Magazine, and Time Magazine for over two decades. She has covered conflicts in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Lebanon, Darfur, South Sudan, Somalia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. In 2015, American Photo Magazine named Lynsey as one of the five most influential photographers of the past 25 years, saying she changed the way we saw the world's conflicts.
