Using Actions as a Text File
I don't use actions too much myself, but, um, when I was learning photos up, one of the I used to download a lot of actions that created really cool effects. That's that's the kind of stuff that I was into. And I used to open up the actions panel, and I used to, For example, here we have a wood frame. This is one of default actions and photo shop. We have this wood frame. So how does it this word from Created? So I would click and open and just look at each individual step to see how that final what framers created. So let me just play that action and show you what's gonna happen. Should have done another from five just cause this files a little a little too big. Yeah, says, Let me. I'll do that again with a different file because this is not what I wanted to do. Let me just open up. I guess we can open up this one and it's already there. So if you go into the actions panel and go back into your shell, have what's called a button mode and they're just buttons that you press, I can just...
click on wood frame. Please continue and it creates a wood frame. Now, if you wanted to know how that affect was applied one of the waste is, of course, to go back into the button mode and open up the wood frame. But you can actually save a file much like the keyboard shortcuts that we saw that it's a text file that shows you all the steps of different actions. So if you go into the flout meaning here and under, um, you got to make sure that one of the folders is selected it one of the, uh, action groups have selected. So if you go into save actions, old option option command and click, you get a txt not an 80 and an 80 and it's, ah, photo shop actions file. As we all know, a TXT file is a text file. So instead, so what we're doing by using command option controlled on the PC instead of telling Photoshopped save on actions file were telling photo shop save a text file that just tells us what the steps are. So you press save and I'll save it, and I guess I'll save it on the desktop so I could find it easy. It should be there. Let me check my desk. Step out. There it is actions. You'll see that I have a text file that has all the different actions for not just the frame action but all the actions in that group. So if you only want the frame than you can delete all the other ones. But the frame action is here so you can come come in there and read each step and read what effects were applied. That way you learn how to use her in think so. That's a technique that I use When I was learning to create these crazy affects is again online. You find a lot of actions that create cool effects, and sometimes you have no idea how they're created was a good way of figuring out how they were created so that you could learn how to do certain things, so saving actions as textiles

Yeah yeah, Jesus Ramirez is a great instructor and this class is packed with useful tips and even some fun ones that might not be so useful. But it was that one about using two windows from the same document that changed my Photoshop life.

Overall Photoshop Week 2017 has some amazing instructors for workflow & compositing. Jesus Ramirez has the unique ability to combine simplicity with really useful depth: blend modes, different approaches to selection or combining different tools. This course covers a lot of tools and there are a number of ‘wow! didn't know that!’ moments a more advanced user will love.

Jesus is excellent! full of knowledge and provides a lot of helpful tips in a clear and easy to understand way. Only thing missing are captions for this class, for some reason. Otherwise, I wish there were more classes like this one.
