Your Elevator Pitch
So what I'd like to start with now is the elevator pitch, and I am known for the driving home, the part of the elevator pitch, because this is your first impression and how many first impressions can you ever make? Only one. So whatever it is that somebody learns about your first has to be spot on, and I already have selected a volunteer ish darryl who was part of the photo biz intensive that we just ran. And darryl, you know, I don't know how we do it. Do you want to talk about first of what their struggles were with the pitch and then do the picture? You want to do the elevator pitch first and then talk about what? The struggles? What? Why do you feel most comfortable with let's? Let's? Just do the pitch, okay, let's, just dip in and we'll talk start, all right, so everybody here he is. Hello, I'm carol bernstein and my company, bernstein productions, specializes in taking crap from china and making it look golden. I like to save it. We're going to shoot after you see our photographs...
of your products, you're gonna want to keep the stuff for yourself bravo and a pitch riva so let's, talk about before the pitch on what sort of your concerns were and what sure, what the issues are surrounding that I think my main concern is that I do a lot of different kinds of photography from people the product portraiture video you know, narrowing the focus to product it's been specifically narrowing it down to yeah taking taking crap and making it looked really good you know that that was a struggle for me I totally understand the approach I mean intellectually it's still difficult to you know make that leap but I love the humor that's very much a part of what I do on set it's what we have a lot of fun it's and it's also very quick and we're doing catalog work so it's like we're getting this stuff knocked out and it looks gorgeous and so that's what I wanted to do today but and then I could want to convey that well we'll shoot the fashion for you as well as the you know, the jewellery as well as you know, whatever and so it's hard to want to go I do everything because that is a very dry, very miljan kind of statement to make and while the elevator's going I understand I want to make that quick connection so the humor fits for me well, I said that won't insult the product because you know there's a lot of way also shoot quality things too it's not just imports but anyways that's that was the struggle and what I really liked about that is you know daryl really struggled with that because he he was like what can I say that but they're my clients and you know I said but everybody knows cheap crap from china there's always that moment where you open the box and you go like that's not what they look like on the photo that's because darryl did it right so s so you know we also then said well what we can add to the elevator pitch than at the end is the sentence and just imagine if you give us your high end stuff how we're going to make that look right so then he would have that sort of covered but in the elevator pitch and well we will be practicing this now with each one of you is that there has to be that immediate attention grabber and that is an attention grabber that immediately makes me laugh and then I want to know more and I want to go while you sound like a fun but nice guy like tell me more about that how do you do what you know what what what's on it what goes into it all right, so joanna, your elevator pitch I am joanna dodge I'm a full service residential real estate broker in seattle it's one of the hottest housing markets in the city and I specialized in working with buyers helping them find new homes taking ah goal and a dream that can sometimes feel very complicated, unknown, scary to a lot of people have everyone, um drilling it down into bite size pieces that are comfortable and fun and helping people then have a home at the end of it where they are going to live their lives out of and make families ok want to fall? Excellent, good cat hi, I am cat green. I am an art director who helps photographers hone their skills to create images that stand out from the zillions that are out there, and I also work with websites and designers to find the images that will in turn drive traffic to their site with those images that stand out from the rest. Ok, good job. I'm john manual and I beautify people's houses with my prints to talk a few prints, but you learn quickly just give me another couple hours and wait what that sounds like jan hello, my name is john baptist and I am a photographer, a web designer and the social media mentor and I what I do is I bring intentions toe life online, very nice, excellent it's different you didn't think it was going to skip you did so I'm stopping squire representing a creative agency, we use user experience, media and technology to drive attachments to businesses, ok, america

Beate Chelette delivered so much value with so much style and grace that it was a "no-brainer" decision on the 2nd day -- I needed to own "Grow Your Business as the Authority In Your Space"! This is material I can really go back to and mine for nuggets over and over -- PLUS, I can't wait to get a closer look at the workbook (and start trying out the exercises of course!). Beate's surprisingly broad expertise coupled with her polish and professionalism made each day's programming a true joy to watch. She is a wonderful role model for all of us nascent women entrepreneurs -- and obviously, men will find her lessons just as empowering. Thank you, CreativeLive and a special thank you to Beate Chelette!

Outstanding lessons and advice on how to make your sales become real. The advice on how to link yourself to others via Linked-In is compelling and easy to begin. I like her advice about doing at least 1 thing every day for your business. Barry L Walton

I love this course and dip back into it frequently. I would highly recommend this course to entry-level and mid-career academics, particularly women. More courses please from Beate Chelette! Cheers, Amy
