Shoot: Conceptual - Feathers

Yeah I like it so a few guys now you're seeing like this is the same girl through the whole thing we started with her looking like a princess and all she looks evil and really dark type of thing but she's able to pull that look off so you know not every model could do that so like I said earlier this girl she khun sheikhoun transform herself and you've got to make sure that when you're using models for multiple things that they can pull those kind of things off because it will either help the shoot or heard it so yeah so I'm just gonna adjust some of sheep in these in for you we tried this one is a little bit sorry I just gotta justice for a second it's just kind of half off come on you wanna just tilt your head away through there I want to stab you it's okay I can stab you okay so the pin is showing and that's okay I will edit that out I needed to sit properly so so this is a lot of what I do when I'm shooting these girls I am playing stylist usually because I don't have a lot of styl...

e is to work with so you see we don't have any other pins here do we if not that's okay I just need to it's okay it's okay I oh sorry get this in there it's been down there too I hope that's right so it stays up better there casca okay, that was your point all right so I'm using the same wall obviously again we just took the butterflies off and this is just a way of you know using like I said the same thing over and over again so this is why I'm showing you guys this is like basically the same wall from the beginning but now the flowers are gone it's the same as a flower wall but without the flowers and we just kind of stripped it right down now so for this um because of her outfit it's it is ethereal but it's more gothic it's a little more edgy so I want you to be you could be a little more edgy now you don't have to be like I'm a princess it's more of just like angry and you got a headache and you know you could like I don't know just mess around play with your hair even with your poses you can kind of be more bold like legs spread a little bit and just sort of stiff body poses um stop some of those let me just take a test shot here see how that's looking way too right more I'm going to get you to step away from the wall just a couple steps more come here still bright why okay that's better like that the next one it's good okay all right, so we'll get started and yeah, I just kind of do your little commie some attitude so we don't have some music but I can't do that all right let me a little bit of hair out even how many pins and he heard you all right so just yeah like not not pulled back like this but more of like forward young good good and you can even be a little strange with your poles is like kind of more of a reggie character look angry yeah, good that's nice do you wantto even kind of like just sort of maybe bring one shoulder up public the shoulder the ones where the feathers are showing yeah good nice do you want it that's nice turn your head this way more straight ahead you know good can I get, um could I get dawn and richard teo like, throw some fabric behind her and I'll take snaps of that just to kind of whip it around so the two of you like one on each side and then we'll see how this looks um I think the other one that the yeah, you know what? Okay, amanda question from herman from the netherlands as you're going, you said that you will add and change the concept is ugo and just kind of as you as your whim strikes you throughout the concept do you ever worry that that would make the model or the rest of the team feel that we as the photographer are not confident in ourselves and kind of lose that leadership that we need what do you mean I'm sorry so as you're going through and you will change your mind and say oh I want to do this different type of shot I want to do this other type of thing do you worry that that loses that leadership or that that confidence that you are perceived to have no I don't know I don't I don't even think about that I just like to experiment stuff so I don't know if anyone even thinks that they have never said it to me so yeah if I if I don't like I'm just really honest if I don't like it if I feel like it's not working I'm just gonna say so and move on and try other things and even if it is working out it's good to experience experiment so that you can you know learn to do things differently right but yeah I know I don't really worry about it okay so okay okay to stand on that just be careful and let's see how this works oh, and if anyone's wondering this dress the see through dress that's from ebay I bought that it was like fourteen, ninety nine or something and oh and the feather pieces of from dream shoe rental again since he sent me that so let's do want to get your pointy tail off to the back yeah let's see if this will even blow the dress at all I don't know if it would if it doesn't we could blow it on her hair we could take the pointy tail out and then no heavy yeah that's okay you know what let you can you take that pointy sellout let's try that now if we got the fan you know we'll put it back up here I guess maybe we'll just blow her hair around and she can play with the dress instead yeah so harold blow let's try a couple of shots and when I'm shooting yeah you can kind of like pull the dress and let it go and just sort of play around with it and yeah good good this kind of even like you know like swirl around and stuff and get the motion in there yeah good good just whip it around even like this I'll count to three and I'll go one two three and then you can just kind of like move it around that ok ok one two three good again one two three did you know that looks that's pretty tried the other way just kind of like pulls the other way pull it inward now and then just let it go and all okay one two, three good are you feeling cold with your legs can you actually bring them in like can you kind of cross him over at all or is it too hard and on there yeah and keep your knees like your leg straight like yeah there you go good one so nice when you do that again do you want to swing your head back it's kind of one two three good yeah, maybe even you could do it the other way too so you kind of like bring your head in office it now ok, ok one two, three good yeah, I like it and let's do some like this would just go straight on like just have your legs kind of just on the edges of the box so careful don't fall over yeah so I want I want her here to kind of like blow way so if we just know you hurt yeah oh, I like that fan I should just stay in front of the fan. I don't know if that's going to look right, it might switch up your legs too much, but you can kind of turn sideways on dh it's too. A couple shots like that? Um you wanna? All right, so we'll do some of the kind of poses we had done earlier where your I don't I don't want either. I don't want your leg straight like, want they all have to. Well, they both have to be bent. One could be more bent than the other. So one is more pulled out, so I see the separation in your in your feet. Yeah, like that. Good. Okay, a couple of these good. When I go shopping now with my wife and we because I don't want to seem creepy when we go out looking for flowers and paying six goodwill. But you talked about going on ebay and finding a dress. So what would you look for? Like, a size if you know, to feel like what size should you buy? If you're looking for shoot, I will go for mediums and smalls because that's usually what their sizes are, and I will not usually get fitted pieces, this is stretchy, so any model work within probably fit into that. You know if someone's a little thicker a little slimmer it will still sit on the same so when you're looking for sizes and stuff usually make sure it's a stretching material you know small medium and you're better safe than sorry so you're better off getting something a little bigger and just clipping it to tighten her on them right rather than its not choose to like most the time I the girls bring their own shoes most of the time I don't usually provide shoes I tell them I actually get the models to what I could communicate with them to send me phone shots I'm like I need you to do you have boots do you have this you have that to have any red shoes they'll say yes no whatever and then I'll either get their foot size and I'll go looking for them I'll see what I have or I will get them to lay all their shoes out and I say okay bring those don't bring those just because I need to know what they're ringing and I need to know what I'm gonna have I don't want any surprises because there's already enough surprises and shoots right but yeah and so she brought her own shoes today yeah thank you amanda quick question from eighty far in england when you're using a rented dress or maybe something that a stylist has pulled from a shop somewhere what steps do you take? Two avoid damaging it to avoid getting it dirty can you talk about how you respect the dress? Basically yeah, you have to be really, really careful stylised when there are stylists involved and it's borrowed clothing I they have to stay there with me at the shoot and they make sure it's their job to make sure and even I've I've said something to the model and like, hey, get on the ground themselves like no, you can't get on the ground I'm like okay, fine, you know, it's so I make sure they're there and they have to take care of that part of it. Yeah, when it's designer's clothes I I usually have them kicking around too just in case I'm not always but um, when it's things like this, if they're on the ground is just you could just, you know, peel the grass, offer whatever, but just wandering we should do keep doing the fan for something else. Um, yeah, we'll do a few more found shots just to get a little more of that. And then, um and then we'll finish off with some more stand up shots and then we'll be good. You guys tape the power switch, okay, was that your face good, nice and your foot again, you want to bring it out because it like lift up the dress so it's not like keeping your foot stifled in their very go that's good nice that's pretty well that's nice keep that poles like do that again but I want you to bring the opportunity but more here even look back like that like you are just kind of stay looking back I'm gonna be right over okay it's pretty and then we'll do some straight on me again just face right on there yeah nice that's pretty school head keep doing that I'm just gonna school overhear two that's nice because you want to tilt your head up into that kind of like aa couple more okay, so we'll get we'll stand up and we'll get rid of this box and we'll just finish up with that um you know, keep it on the box just lifted out okay, so I'm just going to finish with some portrait shots and then we'll be good. Okay? So let's pretend this is a fashion shoot and I'm just I want to focus a little bit on these shoulder pads so we're going to go sideways um and I want you to kind of like, just lift your we'll try the other way instead harold here sorry all your hair you're lucky good yeah and so we're gonna kind of like, just bring it up a couple shots of this reflector yeah reflector yeah, okay so I'm just going to try to bounce some light back up at her now we're going to use the just to fill in the light a little bit and see what you might want to do wantto try that side if that works yeah that's good good and then looking over at me so I want you more like standing up straight and just kind of like shoulder up and then you could bring your arm down two and just yeah good pretty yeah course where you you step on this thing yeah a little bit more and then can we do it this way like I'm like a balance up where it's more see if it'll work there you know like they're right there yeah yeah and I want you shoulder way up almost like you're peaking you're hiding under its will bring it up yeah good yeah okay good that's pretty and then do you want to do straight on and you know, do a few of these and then we're good goodness yes, that cord um so let it like I know it's all weird so even wanted like use your arms to hold it all up around you that's good yeah and then let's do some like intense kind of a look at yeah and sort of chin up not way up just a little bit like awesome attitude good mor that's pretty yeah look sideways again even looks, I'd reason kind of maybe have your eyes going down towards here.
