TikTok

OK, so how can you use Tik Tok to start growing awareness for your brand? Well, Tik Tok is actually one of the best platforms out there for organic reach, but it is getting more and more competitive every single day. So I guess the best time to start on Tik Tok was yesterday. But if that isn't available, then I guess we can just get started. Now. Now there are a few pros and cons in regard to Tik Tok that you should probably be aware of. So the first is, as I just mentioned that Tik Tok is one of the platforms is the easiest to get reach and awareness organically without having to pay for advertising. But obviously, that is going to change over time and that will become less and less as the platform becomes more popular. Now, the great thing about Tik Tok is that the videos that are shown on Tik Tok are generally quite short and catchy. So they don't take as long to make as youtube video, for example, obviously, depending on the complexity of the video. Now, one of the best things abou...

t Tik Tok is the chance to go viral So one thing that we do need to remember in regards to going viral and getting lots of awareness on Tik Tok and other social media platforms is it doesn't necessarily result in sales. So you could potentially do a piece of content that goes viral, but for the wrong reason, so always keep in mind at all times that you are trying to build a brand and you're not just trying to go viral for the sake of it. So those are the positive points of using Tik Tok. But what are the cons? So the first thing is that you do need to be quite creative to actually create engaging content for the platform. And secondly, once a piece of content is being posted and it makes its rounds, it won't be seen again, very much, essentially has a very short shelf life. Once you create a piece of content, it has its part and then it kind of goes away forever, which is very different to the likes of youtube, which can obviously resurface again and again. And thirdly, it is quite difficult to convert E Tik Tok, follow it into a paying customer who's going to enjoy your brand for the long term. Really great example of a brand that grew on Tik Tok quite well is Elf Cosmetics. Now, they essentially have four different types of content that they were posting on a regular basis which covered areas such as challenges and trends user generated content, educational and phone content and then collaborations. So as you can see, they were posting a range of different types of content, they were giving their audience lots of different content to consume, which was connected to their brand in different ways. Now, in regards to cost, I would give this a nine because it doesn't take anything to shoot or basically make a Tik Tok account. In regards to action setting things up, you can set up a Tik Tok account pretty easily. It takes about 30 minutes. But in regard to actually maintaining and managing the Tik Tok account, you're going to have to create a lot of content to get the awareness that you need to actually grow your business. So I'm going to that as a one or maybe even a zero, it's going to take a lot of effort. It's going to take a lot of time and energy and if you're fully invested in it, then it could actually work. But I would just really thinking carefully about if Tik Tok is where your customers, your potential customers are spending their time, obviously refer back to your target audience slide, which we discussed a little bit earlier on in the course. And you'll be able to make a decision as to if Tik Tok is going to be a good return on your investment because if you get things right then I would probably rate Tik Tok is around a seven or eight but if things are not done properly and your target audience isn't there on Tik Tok spending time, then you know that's gonna be a zero, it's not gonna be good for your brand. It's not gonna be good for sales and you're gonna be spending a lot of time investing in tiktok content, which isn't gonna be driving any sales. So your business could ultimately feel if you do invest a lot of time into it, Tik Tok and it's not driving any sort of revenue whatsoever. Hope you found this lesson valuable. And if you think Tik Tok is the best option for your specific circumstances, that's great. If you need any additional support, please let me know. I'm always here to help and I look forward to seeing you in the next lesson. Take care.
