Adding Embellishments to Titles
We have this ribbon and sometimes we want them to look like it's going through the title this is not good, we can't read the title, but if we just put it behind the title, it doesn't it's not very realistic and it doesn't look very good either. So what I like to d'oh as I like to make it overlaps some letters and go behind the other letters. This is where we're going to start to move this out of the way for the moment, so the easiest way to do this is I'm going to duplicate this layer just in case I mess up um that way I can go back and not have to worry about can control seeing all the time, so I have to rast arise this layer because it's a smart object right now and so what I want this to do is I want this to look like it goes around and loops underneath the e and goes behind it now, it's really important that you have your letters placed correctly if the e was lower and I just tried to erase this part right here, then it would be really hard tio make it look realistic, it would look...
realistic at all, so we need to move the e f a little bit so that it can look like it's looping underneath it then you just command click the e to get the marching hands and I only want to erase I don't want to raise this part I only want to a race the parts that are supposed to be behind the are you having, huh? So now even without shadowing it's already starting to look like it's going behind the um so now let's let's pull the tea in front and the album are the t in front of this and the al behind it so I'm going to go they want to command click this one and we're going to erase it just over the tea so it looks like he went behind the tea and then this really obscures our vision so we're going to command click the I c I command click it and then we're going to erase it. Now we come up to a problem area right here because if I just a raise um, this portion right here if we have this overlap right here where it's not going to make visual sense because we've cut part of that ribbon off so we have to erase the whole thing to really make sure that it's looks realistic peace and now we have a ribbon that's going in and out of the letters, but we also have a problem because once we start adding shadows to this that's at a paper shadow these air, the shadow styles again that we did in the shadowing course. So I'm out of paper shattered shadow to those and a ribbon shadow. Find the ribbon. It is shadow to this now the problem that we have is because we erased parts. This layer is actually on top of the tea layer, it's just has been erased, so we're not getting a shadow over the tea. Layer her over the ribbon from the tea layer. So what we can do before having that problem is we want to make sure that we pulled the tea layer up to the top. So it really just it's, really just a place of continuity and that we want to make sure that it's, right? So we don't have any issues with our shadowing. You can also, if you're having problems, you can take the the shadow for the ribbon off onto its own layer, and you can duplicate it and clip it to letters as needed. So that's, how you string a ribbon through your luck?

I have recently discovered digital scrapbooking and have been using a great scrapbooking software that I downloaded on-line. There are limitations with the software that prompted me to look deeper for ideas. Traci's course was fantastic! I learned so much from her not only in scrapbooking layouts and using different elements in a page but my level of understanding of photoshop has improved dramatically. The presentation was easy to follow and broken into perfect chunks to go back and review the techniques. Thank you so much Traci for presenting this awesome course. I will look for more of your courses. Your scrapbooking is beautiful and inspiring!

I'm a photographer. I do a lot of graphic design for my business. I feel like I'm fairly knowledgeable. I saw this class being shown for free on Creative Live one day and it wasn't my first choice to watch, but was the best out of the list... I was wrong. This is a great class. I didn't expect to learn that much and I've been learning a lot! Great info!
