How do I put an image inside other shapes like a circle - cropping

Hi there in this video, we're going to look at getting images inside of shapes. Okay, circles, pentagons. Okay. It's pretty easy. Let's go and do that now. Okay, so there's two ways. Let's do the easy way. Let's have nothing. Selected black arrow, click in the background. Let's go to file place in your exercise files. Okay, go to 04 long document and go to cafe. Let's bring him in. Obviously you can bring in any image you like. Now. I'm going to click hold and drag it out to an appropriate size. Okay? You might click once and then have to resize it to get it to something cause it's going to go inside the circle. Right? So what I'd like to do is, so this is an easier way because you can work on this image separately then kind of get it positioned over where you want it, make sure it's big enough to actually cover the circle, otherwise you'll see a strip of the pink through there. Okay, so I'm gonna make it a bit bigger. Get it roughly. We can adjust it afterwards and then I'm going to g...

o to edit and go to cut. Okay, select on my circle and go to edit paste into awesome. Okay, we can do some adjustments afterwards by grabbing the content grabber. Okay, move it around or just double click anywhere in there and move it around. Okay, so that's how to paste inside a couple of things you might run into with problems, so I'm going to undo that. Okay, He's back if you don't have it above where you wanted to go watch this. If I just leave him kind of there willy nilly and go to cut here, go to edit paste into it goes inside, but you can only see the corner of it worse. It might even be ducked down here and you'll never see it and you can keep pasting into it, but it will never work. So just make sure that before you actually cut it, put it exactly where you want it to go and then cut and paste it. So I said there was two ways, there's another way with the selected, you can go to edit and you can go to place okay? And you can go to cafe. Okay? And what will happen by default is that it will paste inside of it and that's fine. Okay. The problem is it's come through as its actual size and it's actually really big image. Where is he? Um you see it's that big, it's way bigger than they are spread Okay, So it's just a little bit hard now to zoom out and then to start scaling it. Okay? You have to be a not a pro but it's it's a bit fiddly to do it that way I find it's easier to do it separately. Okay. Get it right in position. Cut and paste it inside Alright, before we go, last thing we'll do is we'll get the text to run around here. Okay. So with that selected window actually I want to do it by yourself. I want you to even get it going. Okay? I'm going to do it, yep. Same as clipping this one here. I'm gonna push this out. I said going to be yourself. I just totally did it in front of you. It's all right. All right. We'll do another image will replace this blue one, but we're going to look at something called adobe stock and how that works. So let's go and do that now.

I think Dan is very good at explaining and breaking down complex content. I like the way there are lots of small sessions which is good for keeping focus. I would advise anyone who does this course and is taking notes to label which session the notes are referring to as I have struggled to find a few looking back and this helped me. It really made me realise how much I didn't know and had been fudging. Thank you Dan I will be taking plenty more of your courses in the coming months it's been a great help.
